About The Position

The Associate Director of Graduate Admissions supports the Associate Vice President of Graduate Admissions in managing technical, administrative, and personnel operations in the Graduate Admissions Office. This position includes both overall managerial duties pertinent to an admissions office, as well as specific duties that require special analytical knowledge. The Associate Director is responsible for enforcing The Joint Office of Graduate Studies policies and procedures, advising prospective students on programs, instructing faculty and staff on best practices regarding administration of duties, recruitment and counseling students on the admissions requirements for 150 graduate programs. The Associate Director is also responsible for reviewing and evaluating cases for admission, and finalizing admissions decisions. These decisions are coordinated with the functions of the Assistant Directors of Financial Aid and the Associate Director of Academic Affairs in the Graduate School. These decisions impact operations in University offices such as the Registrar, Financial Aid, Office of Billing and Payment Services, Office of Global Services, and Student Health. Implementation and maintenance of technical and functional processes is an integral part of this position, such as for events and outreach and communications campaigns; additionally, computation and calculation of statistical information for University reporting and analysis of recruitment and admission activities is essential. Management of academic credentials and applicant dossiers is also a large component of the Associate Director position. This position works with the Associate Directors to manage day-to-day workflow of academic credentials and admissions processing. The Associate Director is a primary contact for service and support to specified graduate programs for application and admissions needs. The Associate Director primarily coordinates prospect event and outreach recruitment activities (information sessions, webinars, and organizational outreach), and communications campaigns. Coordination of social media communications planning with the team and the Communications and Marketing Manager is also a duty of this position. Coordination of NNE participation. This position supervises student and temporary staff, as well as supports training/management for temporary staff on the Graduate Admissions team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in higher education admissions.
  • Administrative experience and high general technical competency.
  • Expertise in foreign credential evaluation, international educational systems; translation / language skills desired.
