About The Position

We are excited to invite a dedicated and passionate Associate Director of Family Services to join our central office team in Manhattan, NY. As an Associate Director of Family Services, you will focus on both supporting and overseeing our Family Services departments at our six Family Residences. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with families in crisis, have experience in social services, and be able to identify departmental achievement gaps through case audits, assessments, and DHS data. The Associate Director of Family Services will be a large part of creating a high performing Family Services department. This position will report to the Senior Director of Operations. ABOUT HOMES FOR THE HOMELESS: Homes for the Homeless operates shelters for families experiencing homelessness in NYC. Our family residences are more than just a place to sleep. Families can make the most of their stay through accessing an array of onsite programs. Many of these programs are also available to people living in the local community. Our goal is to have a positive impact so families can thrive long after they leave our shelters.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social services, counseling, human services, or forensic science.
  • 5+ years of experience in Case Management services, child advocacy, or social services.
  • Experience working with underserved communities.
  • Recognizes the importance of combining quantitative and qualitative data to develop comprehensive solutions and recommendations.
  • Organized and fluent in Microsoft Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and guidance to our six Family Services departments by actively engaging with Directors, Social Workers, and Case Managers.
  • Provide case oversight by reviewing case documentation, conducting case audits and triage high needs clients with Family Services staff.
  • Assist in providing mentorship and training to newly hired Directors of Family Services.
  • Conduct conferences with Family Services on high need cases.
  • Conduct site visits to all six Family Residences.
  • Review DHS reports and identify gaps in services that need to be addressed.
  • Build a relationship with DHS and attend DHS meetings as required.
  • Report site incidents to leadership.
  • Address emergencies as required, as HFH is a 24/7 operation.
