About The Position

Under general supervision from the Executive Director, CSU Shiley Haynes Institute for Palliative Care (Institute), the Associate Director of Educational Programs (AD-EP) will work in partnership to oversee the development and implementation of all programs, initiatives and efforts undertaken by the CSU SHIPC to advance and extend palliative care education across the CSU system. The AD-EP will oversee and coordinate all aspects of leading, supporting and evaluating the development CSU SHIPC campus partner offices across the CSU system. This position works closely with campus Faculty Directors in support of individual campus activities and in the administration of grants intended to support the development and implementation of a campus partner office network. The AD-EP will also lead, in collaboration with any supporting CSU faculty, the development of curriculum intended to advance interprofessional education or become part of any academic credit undergraduate/graduate certificate or degree program. The AD-EP is also responsible for collaborating with the Executive Director on the planning and executing of the Institute’s annual national symposium and developing curriculum integration tools for campus partners. The D-EP will also work with the Executive Director to establish and build out a curriculum development service offered to other organizations and institutions as a source of ongoing revenue for the Institute. This position works closely with the ED to support all activities, initiative and efforts to enhance the financial sustainability of the Institute. This position works closely in cooperation and collaboration with Extended Learning at CSUSM to sustain the non-credit, continuing education courses offerings to health care professionals and to provide a supportive, positive and high-quality educational program and experience for all learners and curriculum development partners. Some of this work may include in conducting Curriculum Taskforces as needed; recruiting, qualifying, coordinating, and evaluating subject matter experts engaged to develop curriculum content; ensuring delivery of content to specifications, on time and within budget; coordinating and overseeing ancillary service suppliers and tasks, and performing final quality assurance on all educational products and programs.
