About The Position

The Associate Director of Integration will lead integration programming and oversee staff working in CWS North Carolina offices (in Durham, Greensboro, and Wilmington). The Associate Director of Integration will report to the North Carolina State Director and will work in close partnership with local office leadership across the state. The Associate Director of Programs oversees integration programs in the refugee resettlement office and monitors client service provision, documentation, community engagement and overall program compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelors’ degree required or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 7 years previous work experience providing legal services for, refugees, asylees, and immigrant entrants
  • Minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience managing others.
  • Minimum two years personnel management experience required.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment required.
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking and representing the Immigration and Refugee Program in meetings and facilitating trainings.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • The successful candidate must be highly computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel as well as basic MS Office functionality and high capacity in internet-based research.
  • This is an in-person position based in either the Durham or Greensboro, NC offices
  • This position will require travel to other CWS NC offices (Durham, Greensboro, and Wilmington)
  • Strong technology skills are required
  • Must have a clean driving record with reliable personal vehicle
  • A detailed background check is required
  • Occasional night and weekend work required

Responsibilities

  • Leads the team in conducting all duties in a culturally/linguistically appropriate manner.
  • Provides ongoing coaching, mentoring, feedback and guidance to direct service staff and frontline managers to improve performance and completes annual performance evaluations for direct service staff.
  • Promotes teamwork, coordinates the workload of direct service staff and delegates responsibilities; communicates regularly with the Office Director.
  • Ensures that CWS clients receive funder-required services in a timely manner.
  • Works with Office Director and CWS HQ program liaisons to provide on-going training to staff on program developments and service requirements.
  • Monitors refugee arrivals and coordinates services with CWS team to determine case enrollment into government programs based on eligibility and need.
  • Coordinates in-house support services and referrals to external service providers as necessary.
  • Conducts regular reviews of client case files to ensure quality in service provision and fulfillment of documentation requirements.
  • Prepares for and participates in on-site monitoring visits with the Office Director.
  • Develops and nurtures relationships with community partners at the local level to increase integration opportunities for refugees.
  • Provides technical assistance and cultural sensitivity training to internal and community providers to build their capacity to serve unique populations.
  • Coordinates with Office Director to write grants and develop new programs.
  • Prepares federal government grant proposals and renewals.
  • Addresses emergency situations as they arise and mediates conflict as necessary.
  • Advocates on behalf of refugees and refugee-serving voluntary agencies.
  • Completes funder required reports for integration programs.
  • Attends trainings and conferences as requested by supervisor.
  • Stays informed about refugee and immigrant issues, and available services to refugees, using current information to better identify and serve refugee clients.
  • Represents the program at meetings and speaking engagements.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned by Office Director.
  • Variable work hours are required, including some night and weekend work.
