About The Position

The Associate Director, Graduate Alumni Engagement, within Alumni Relations, is responsible for shaping and strengthening MIT's graduate alumni community. This role involves designing innovative programs and experiences that foster connections among graduate alumni and with MIT through various engagement channels including on-campus, global, virtual, and online opportunities. Key responsibilities include cultivating and stewarding alumni volunteers, leading career and professional development initiatives, and building and growing digital communities and engagement platforms. The position requires collaboration with alumni leaders, academic departments, campus partners, and colleagues to promote lifelong engagement that embodies MIT's values of discovery, innovation, and learning. Additionally, the role will utilize data, alumni feedback, and technology to continuously enhance programming, community participation, and graduate alumni engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of three years' experience in alumni relations, advancement, volunteer management, constituent engagement, career and professional development, or a related nonprofit, membership, healthcare, or higher education environment
  • Experience managing engagement programs, volunteer communities, or online platforms in a complex organization
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships
