The Global Cyber Research Institute (GCRI) at Texas A&M has an opening for an Associate Director for Entrepreneurship. The purpose of the role is to execute and direct GCRI’s cyber-industry engagement and research programs. A primary initial focus will be to operationalize a planned consortium focused on standards and regulations for Information Technology (IT) Service Providers. Additionally, the selected candidate is expected to support student- and faculty- led entrepreneurship opportunities, guide technology innovation and transition in the cyber domain, and help develop industry-supported research initiatives. The role represents a unique opportunity to impact the cyber industry at large, through the engagement of Texas A&M’s faculty and students with industry practitioners. The Texas A&M Global Cyber Research Institute, endowed by Ray Rothrock ’77 and Anthony Wood ’90, is a joint Texas A&M University and Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station, which aims to advance the practice of information security and cyber defense for the state, the nation, and beyond. The GCRI provides a platform for research, leadership, engagement, and education in cybersecurity, and provides oversight and coordination among cybersecurity programs within TEES and Texas A&M University colleges, institutes, and centers.
