About The Position

Raytheon is seeking a Finance Manager to lead the Strategic Strike portfolio of programs within the Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) SBU. This leader will join the Strike Initiatives (SI) SSBU finance team as the lead for a large and dynamic program area that has the majority of the LRSO program work currently in development but heading into transition to production. Additionally, the portfolio has two franchise-worthy, competitive new business pursuits on track for selection and award within the next 12 months. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing requirements. In this role, the successful candidate will manage all Finance-related activities through successful execution that drives results. Responsibilities will include providing financial leadership and partnering with the Finance Director, program leadership team & customer to ensure sound business decisions on development execution, new business and strategy. Critical focus will be to ensure LRSO is maintaining/growing profitability throughout development, and setup for financial stability of the franchise into early production ensuring long-term financial goals and commitments are on-track and achievable. This Business Manager requires proactive leadership that has responsibility for strategic direction as well as tactical day-to-day financial product review and operational decision-making, including customer deliverables. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, driving development execution forward, early risk identification and mitigation by partnering with program leadership, managing cost growth and incentives for profit maximization (LRSO EAC performance), financial forecasting and reporting, cash flow management, partnering with Program-Area Directors and cross-functionally, presenting at business level reviews, and proposal oversight & new business capture/strategy. Also, managing the program finance team by hiring, developing, coaching/mentoring, and rotating employees. The candidate will need to lead by setting expectations and operational cadence with the finance and program teams. Given the size and nature of the portfolio, must be able to lead and make decisions independently. Additionally, a candidate for this role should be a strong & visible leader and have good communication skills. The position will have frequent interaction with senior level leaders and functional managers, and ability to partner with those managers will be imperative to ensure businesses and programs are running efficiently, while collaboratively problem-solving and proactively managing risk.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years experience
  • Financial controls experience
  • Experience across Accounting, FP&A, and/or Program Finance
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Estimate at Complete (EAC), including cost management, program risk & opportunity management – Support the development, review and approval various program EACs with all contract types and effectively work cross-functionally to mitigate EAC risks & capture EAC opportunities
  • New Business capture – Competitive proposal development, Pricing & Gate reviews
  • Financial Forecasting/FP&A – AOP & Long-Range Plan (LRP) Development
  • Investment planning - Manage and provide oversight of investment portfolio (Capital, IR&D, NBI) for executing to strategic plan & new business capture
  • Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) variance analysis, data reviewing and reporting
  • Effectively partner with external customer to develop relationships and focus on customer satisfaction in terms of finance-based deliverables and data
  • Participation and lead of program & functional business reviews to ensure business efficiency and risk mitigation.
  • Working closely with the customer community to partner for change
