About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Director of Operations, the Associate Director of Education Programming for the RiseBoro Youth Center is responsible for working in collaboration with the staff to ensure the overall effective and innovative implementation of the Education Division’s adult education programs. The Associate Director will provide support in strategic development, leadership on contract management, staff supervision, budget development, and execution. As a member of the division’s leadership team, the Associate Director will serve as a strategic partner in planning and implementing the vision for the division.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision and support to the Adult Education Program Directors, Program Coordinators and Educational Specialist.
  • Lead recruitment, hiring, orientation, and onboarding of qualified staff.
  • Ensure contractual compliance and achievement of goals and outcomes across all educational programming.
  • Oversee daily program operations and provide strategic and hands-on support to program staff; troubleshoot operational challenges.
  • Conduct regular planning and supervision meetings; build staff capacity through training and coaching. Ensure program teams meet goals, adhere to deadlines, and maintain compliance with RiseBoro policies and contractual obligations.
  • Monitor and evaluate program activities through observations, staff consultation, and data review; provide timely and constructive feedback.
  • Guide staff in the developing and conducting needs assessment and implementing strategies that respond to stated needs.
  • Define, measure, and evaluate program performance data; create continuous improvement based on performance data; prepare reports for tracking, monitoring and evaluation purposes.
  • Build collaboration between key internal and external stakeholders and organizational partners to support the provision of services.
  • Assist in program-related event planning and arrange for guest speakers to enhance programmatic offerings/activities.
  • Assist with outreach to target populations and liaise with appropriate community and government agencies regarding services.
  • Collaborate with the Development Department to write and submit grant proposals as well as engage in fundraising opportunities. Lead efforts to enhance and expand Adult Education services to meet emerging needs of community.
  • Assist in preparation and monitoring of annual program budgets and budget modifications; ensure budget adherence throughout the year.
  • Represent the agency at DYCD, NYSED, and other funder-required trainings and meetings.
  • Along with Education Specialist, ensure curriculum planning and instructional quality control in collaboration with instructional staff.
  • Support case management functions of the Adult Education Counselors, Case Managers, and Career and Educational Counselors.
  • Review quarterly RiseBoro Board of Director reports prepared by Adult Education Program Directors and Coordinators.
  • Provide guidance, leadership, and direction to the team to ensure the delivery of high-quality programmatic offerings; model as an enthusiastic, positive, and motivated coach; implement planning sessions with staff to enhance programs, services, and staff skill sets.
  • Take full responsibility for the performance management of the teams to ensure that quality and deadlines are achieved and maintained and that any issues are managed in accordance with RB policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Coordinate training programs for new staff and identify training needs for current staff; orient new hires to their respective roles and responsibilities within the program structure.
  • Prepare/review timesheets on a bi-weekly basis and submit them to the payroll department for processing.
  • Ensure proper staff coverage for scheduled and unscheduled time off.
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Director of Operations, VP and the Director of Youth Employment Programs.
  • Other related tasks or duties as deemed necessary by the VP and Director of Operations.
