  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Familiar with Enterprise data architecture frameworks - Applies TOGAF, Zachman, or DAMA-DMBOK to design enterprise-wide data architectures.
  • Experience producing Reference architectures - Authors reusable reference architectures and blueprints for common patterns (e.g., regulatory reporting, real-time risk, MDM hub).
  • Architecture documentation & ADRs - Produces clear, maintainable architecture documentation including Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), sequence diagrams, component diagrams, and system context diagrams.
  • Experience with data integration architecture - Designs scalable integration patterns including batch ETL/ELT, Change Data Capture (CDC), event streaming, and API-led connectivity.
  • Experience with data mesh & domain-driven design - Applies domain-driven design (DDD) and data mesh principles — bounded contexts, domain ownership, data-as-a-product — to decompose monolithic data platforms without sacrificing enterprise consistency.
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses - Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Databricks (Lakehouse), Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse, or AWS Redshift.
  • Experience with data lakehouse architecture - Designs medallion (bronze/silver/gold) architectures.
  • Familiar with the tools in the modern data stack
  • Subject matter expertise with Financial data domains - Deep knowledge of core FS data domains: general ledger, trade & position, risk, payments, customer/KYC, and reference data (instruments, counterparties, currencies).
  • Familiar with data governance principles - Champions data ownership, stewardship, and policy enforcement.
  • Experience with semantic layer & data product design - Designs reusable, business-aligned semantic layers (metrics layers, logical data products) that decouple business logic from physical storage.
  • Technical vision & architecture direction - Sets the long-term data modeling and architecture strategy aligned to business and regulatory roadmaps.
  • Executive & board-level communication - Translates complex data architecture and modeling concepts into clear business impact narratives for C-suite, risk committees, and regulators.
  • Cross-functional collaboration - Works effectively with business analysts, software engineers, risk, finance, compliance, and product teams to align on data definitions, integration contracts, and model fitness for purpose.
  • Technology vendor evaluation & negotiation - Evaluates vendor platforms against enterprise requirements using structured scoring.
  • Mentoring & technical coaching - Develops junior and mid-level team members through pair work, structured feedback, and stretch assignments.
  • Familiar with agile / scrum delivery - Runs or participates effectively in agile ceremonies.
  • Architecture governance & technology standards - Maintains the enterprise architecture standards register, technology radar, and approved patterns catalog.

Nice To Haves

  • Understands platform-specific optimization levers (clustering, partitioning, materialization).
  • No jargon, full accountability.
  • Ensures standards keep pace with platform evolution.

Responsibilities
