The Associate Director will report to the Director of Corporate Relations and will be a vital partner in the successful implementation of Duke's corporate relations strategy. As an experienced facilitator of university/business partnerships, he/she will work closely with the University's senior administration, faculty, and staff in initiating, supporting, and strengthening key alliances that provide significant value (in the form of scholarly engagement, research, internships/careers, speakers and board-service, executive-education, donations, etc.) to university programs. The Associate Director supports university-wide initiatives, assists the corporate relations efforts of Duke schools, staffs a campus-level Financial Industry Team, and facilitates the development of strategies for broad corporate partnerships. Corporate Relations (CR) is part of the central Office of University Development but also reports to an Executive Committee consisting of the provost (Chair), Executive Vice President, Vice Chancellor of Corporate and Venture Development, and the Vice President of Alumni Affairs and Development. CR provides services to the broader university community, particularly to Trinity College of Arts and Sciences. In addition, CR coordinates efforts across and works closely with the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University Medical, the Pratt School of Engineering, and the Nicholas School of Environment and Earth Sciences, as well as several interdisciplinary institutes and programs which have their own corporate relations functions.
