About The Position

This opportunity is for an Associate Director to manage a portfolio of Corporate Client Group (CCG) Borrowers and develop people management and leadership skills. The team provides a middle office function, collaborating across CCG and other bank partners to deliver comprehensive credit and banking services to multinational and large corporate relationships. The role thrives in an interactive team environment and requires strong written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • 3-5 years knowledge and experience in credit risk and/or financial analysis
  • Knowledge of internal systems such as CCMS, TMS & Newton and familiarity with RBC CTM processes
  • Strong credit, analytical and technical skills, ability to critically assess financial statements and other corporate and commercial client reports and draw reasoned and relevant conclusions to recommend a course of action
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment and to interact at all levels within a large organization
  • Ability to read and understand complex legal documents, prioritize, commit to task with excellent attention to detail, and perform well under pressure to meet time sensitive deadlines as this is frequently not a 9-to-5 environment
  • High degree of computer literacy: MS Office Suite, database software, and electronic tools for on-line research

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, CFA, CPA or other professional designation
  • Familiarity with Corporate Client Group portfolio
  • Ability to communicate and read legal documentation in French
  • Familiarity with the RBC credit process and loan agreements

Responsibilities

  • Managing a team of Associates who each manage credit risk associated with their portfolios
  • Developing, coaching and mentoring your team of Associates
  • Managing credit risk associated with syndicated and bilateral loan facilities and trading derivative lines
  • Preparation of credit amendments, annual reviews, reviewing loan documentation, RAFs (Risk Assessment Framework), including financial modeling where required
  • Actively follow the business and financial performance of the borrowers in your portfolio through daily monitoring of financial and industry information, regulatory events, external rating agency movements, and other early warning signals
  • Identify and assess deteriorating risk situations through your credit analysis and where necessary, propose a course of action to your Director to ensure the safety of the bank’s funds
  • Ensure compliance with loan agreements by verifying performance against financial covenants, margin limits and Bank Policy
  • Ensure bank systems correctly reflect key terms and conditions of credit agreements and other documentation for the assigned portfolio, with respect to data integrity
  • Build relationships and interact extensively with other functions within the organization such as Corporate Client Group, Risk Management, Global Loans Administration, front line Service Managers, Cash Managers and clients, both internal & external
