Associate Director, Content Operations Lead Associate Director, Content Operations Lead PURPOSE The Associate Director, Content Creation Strategy and Deployment Operations Lead provides strategic, end-to-end operational leadership for the Clinical Content Creation (C3C) organization, which serves as an internal agency for Bayer’s US Medical Affairs organization; In this role, you oversee systems, processes, capacity, governance, and financial operations that enable high-quality, timely, and compliant content development across US Medical Affairs; You ensure operational excellence, drive cross-functional coordination with Therapeutic Areas (TAs), strengthen enterprise reporting, and lead the optimization of tools, resources, and workflows that support C3C’s growth and performance.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, MBA, PMP or equivalent) with 5+ years of relevant experience; a master’s degree with 8+ years or a bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience will also be considered with equivalent additional experience;
  • Strong operations management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly matrixed, and regulated environment;
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage operations at scale, and develop high-performing teams in a regulated medical or life sciences setting;
  • Strong understanding of clinical data, therapeutic area communications, and the role of content in driving engagement with HCPs, payers, and other key stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex workflows, KPIs, SOP governance, and audit readiness for content or medical operations;
  • Proficiency with Veeva Vault, Smartsheet, SharePoint, and CRM platforms, with familiarity with AI-driven or modular content solutions;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proven problem-solving abilities and a structured, analytical approach to resolving complex operational challenges;
  • Proven ability to collaborate with and influence a wide variety of cross-functional stakeholders, including within health system administration or similar complex organizational environments;
  • High degree of flexibility and adaptability in a rapidly changing environment, with the ability to balance operational execution with long-term strategic priorities and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop C3C Operations, Project and Program Managers, ensuring KPI achievement, disciplined use of scorecards, and ongoing capability development;
  • Govern operational frameworks, SOPs, escalation pathways, decision-right clarity, and compliance across all C3C activities, including continuous audit of readiness for systems, processes, and documentation;
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for operational risks related to timelines, resourcing, systems, and workflow integrity, including compliant onboarding and offboarding of internal staff and contracted personnel;
  • Lead optimization of Smartsheet and other tools to enhance project intake, capacity planning, SLA adherence, cost validation, and enterprise reporting, while owning and maintaining C3C dashboards and the Operational Tracker;
  • Oversee all systems supporting C3C operations to ensure stability, integrity, and optimization, and partner with the C3C Lead to support implementation and integration of AI-driven initiatives;
  • Lead enterprise-wide project allocation by aligning demand, capacity, and execution standards, including intake prioritization, resourcing forecasts, hour verification, and contractor staffing models and cost structures;
  • Drive financial management for C3C, including budgeting, forecasting, SOW oversight, cost documentation, contractor management, and benchmarking internal utilization and performance against agency standards;
  • Oversee reporting, analytics, and insights for all C3C deliverables by defining reporting requirements with leadership and analytics teams, enhancing dashboard capabilities, and developing monthly operational reports and quarterly business summaries;
  • Lead TA engagement and operational delivery for Ad Boards and Congress activities, including communication flows, dashboards, and SharePoint content, while managing all C3C SharePoint environments and communication assets;
  • Lead structured feedback collection, survey analytics, and continuous improvement initiatives, overseeing all TA-facing surveys, communications, and operational expectations.
