About The Position

The Capabilities and Contracting Systems Lead will provide strategic planning and functional leadership around enabling new capabilities and evolving existing capabilities to drive a simplified user experience internally, as well as seamless user experience externally. This global role will be a key contributor in providing data driven insights and resource optimization that directly impact the processes, vendors, training, outsourcing and platforms associated with Events and Meetings. Additional responsibility for supporting the management of Events & Meetings (E&M) compliance risk, working in partnership across the wider Strategic Risk Management team (SRM). This person will also assist and lead where needed on the streamlining of processes, systems, shaping policy, driving focus on HCP experience, and interacting with senior level BMS management.

Requirements

  • Minimum education of a bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related field is required, master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience in pharmaceutical or consulting supporting enterprise systems and large-scale process and system related change initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to take a strategy and develop/run large scale multi-function, multi-year enterprise projects including people, process, technology, policy.
  • Experience leading or supporting global initiatives from concept through close-out.
  • Manages multiple complex projects and processes across global diverse matrix teams.
  • Strong knowledge analyzing business processes, issues and training others.
  • Expertise in SAP functional areas utilized by BMS.
  • Demonstrates ability to deal with unstructured, relatively difficult assignments that will require effective communication and organization skills.
  • Expertise of Global HCP processes in order to act as Subject Matter Expert across the following areas: Contract Management; Payment Management; Meeting Management; Reporting / Data Analytics; Legal / Regulatory / Compliance Needs

Responsibilities

  • Partner with worldwide Events & Meetings, Congress Management, IT, BCF, Compliance, Transparency and Procurement teams to define meeting capability needs that support meeting execution, improve operational efficiencies, and drive a superior customer experience at BMS meetings and events. (logistics and third party)
  • Define near and long-term objectives to identify and enhance core capabilities around HCP experience, simplification, and usability for internal/external partners.
  • Lead agenda and discussions with Senior Leadership Steering Committee meetings.
  • Ensure partnership across worldwide market teams on requirements definition and prioritize areas of greatest impact.
  • Establish governance model to support intake of requests and future enhancements. (including resource impact)
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts and process harmonization across the global E&M level to evolve baseline capabilities, including process mapping exercises to ensure analytical rigor in process evaluation.
  • Be an active partner to other areas of the SRM team as needed in areas such as data analytics, risk management etc. to help increase efficiency and oversight across the wider Law and Policy organization.
  • Ensure successful training, rollout and adoption of new processes and capabilities across E&M systems.
  • Provides point ownership for platforms/systems that are solely impactful for E&M eg CVENT and acts as E&M SME for other platforms/systems that are owned at the SRM level.
  • Develop and evolve Capability maturity model to evaluate and monitor key performance indicators across the global Events and Meetings team.
  • Support design and deployment of HCP tools and processes.
  • Partner with process and system owners in all areas involved in the HCP meetings and events experience.
  • Manages system implementation of the Key Performance Indicators for HCP meetings to monitor outcomes and identify areas to improve the landscape.
  • Manage the creation of Change Management and Training Materials as needed.
  • Define skills and capabilities needed to drive productivity aligned to business need perform the operational day to day management of the contracting and payment team.
  • Periodically review and identify opportunities for systems and process improvements, create value proposition to drive further efficiencies that drive greater contract throughput and/or improvements in compliance/risk mitigation.
