Associate Director, Analytics & Forecasting – Hepatitis B Vaccines

SanofiMorristown, NJ
$148,500 - $214,500Hybrid

About The Position

The Associate Director, Analytics & Forecasting – Hepatitis B Vaccines is a hybrid role with 70% dedicated to commercial analytics and insights generation and 30% focused on demand forecasting for Sanofi's Hepatitis B vaccines portfolio. This position serves as the primary analytical and forecasting expert supporting the Hepatitis B commercial organization — spanning pediatric and adult vaccination programs, birth dose initiatives, catch-up vaccination campaigns, travel medicine, and occupational health segments across both endemic and non-endemic markets. The role is fundamentally about transforming complex, multi-source data into clear, actionable insights that drive business decisions across the full Hepatitis B lifecycle — from routine immunization programs and public health partnerships to private market commercial strategy. The ideal candidate brings deep analytical rigor, a strong understanding of immunization program dynamics, and the ability to build and own end-to-end demand forecasts for a portfolio that spans commercial, government, and global public health channels. This person will serve as the analytical and forecasting partner to cross-functional stakeholders — including Commercial, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Finance, Supply Chain, and Global and Hub teams — while also owning the Hepatitis B demand forecast and providing critical data-driven inputs that inform supply planning, brand strategy, and long-range financial planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required. Preferably in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, Epidemiology, Public Health, Life Sciences, or related quantitative discipline
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in analytics, forecasting, or commercial insights
  • Relevant experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or public health sector is highly preferred
  • Experience specifically in vaccines, infectious disease, or immunization program analytics is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience building demand forecast models in a pharmaceutical or vaccines setting, including epidemiology-driven bottom-up forecasting approaches.
  • Proven track record of translating complex analytical findings into strategic business recommendations.
  • Strong command of statistical analysis methodologies: regression, time-series analysis, clustering, segmentation, cohort analysis, and predictive modeling.
  • Expert-level proficiency in data analytics and visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent tools).
  • Advanced proficiency in at least one programming and statistical tool (e.g., Python, R, SQL, and/or SAS)
  • Expert-level proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for analytical storytelling and forecast model development.
  • Hands-on experience with pharmaceutical and public health data sources is highly preferred (e.g., IQVIA (MIDAS, NPA, NSP), Symphony Health, CDC immunization data, WHO immunization databases, IIS (Immunization Information Systems), or claims databases)
  • Exceptional ability to synthesize complex, multi-source data — including commercial, epidemiological, and public health data — into clear strategic insights.
  • Strong instinct for identifying the right analytical approach to answer ambiguous business questions in a complex, multi-channel vaccines market.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous environments and delivering data-driven recommendations with incomplete information.
  • Passion for deep-dive investigations and uncovering non-obvious insights in large, heterogeneous data sets.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence without authority across functions and levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and champion a data-driven culture.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex analyses to non-technical audiences including public health stakeholders and commercial leadership.
  • Skilled at storytelling with data — building compelling narratives that drive action across both commercial and public health contexts.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to tailor communication style to diverse audiences, from field teams to C-suite executives to global public health partners
  • Collaborative mindset with a strong orientation toward serving both commercial and public health stakeholders.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships across Commercial, Finance, Medical, Market Access, Supply Chain, and Global teams.
  • Primarily office/remote-based work environment (in-office 3 times per week).
  • Extended periods of computer use for data analysis, model development, and forecast modeling.
  • Ability to travel domestically and occasionally internationally as required.
  • Ability to participate in virtual meetings across multiple time zones.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree (MBA, MS, MPH) strongly preferred — MPH or epidemiology background particularly valued given the public health nature of Hepatitis B vaccination programs.
  • Direct experience with Hepatitis B vaccine analytics — including birth cohort modeling, vaccination coverage rate analysis, and series completion tracking.
  • Familiarity with WHO prequalification processes and their impact on global vaccine market access.
  • Knowledge of market access dynamics specific to vaccines, including VFC program, GPO agreements, government contracts, and payer coverage policies.
  • Experience with AI/ML applications in commercial analytics and demand forecasting.
  • Familiarity with epidemiological modeling frameworks and disease burden analysis.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure).
  • Experience with supply chain demand planning tools (e.g., SAP IBP, Kinaxis) as an analytical input provider.
  • Exposure to global analytics processes and alignment with regional/global teams.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead analytical resource for the Hepatitis B commercial organization, within the Adult Vaccines portfolio, delivering deep-dive analyses, ad-hoc investigations, and proactive insights across pediatric, adult, travel medicine, and occupational health vaccination segments
  • Conduct rigorous market analysis across Hepatitis B vaccination trends, competitive landscape, immunization schedule adherence, birth dose program performance, and catch-up vaccination uptake to generate forward-looking commercial insights on public vs. private market dynamics specific to Hepatitis B — including government immunization programs
  • Translate complex, multi-source data sets into clear, concise, and compelling narratives for senior leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Track and analyze vaccination coverage rates, immunization schedule completion rates (3-dose series adherence), and catch-up vaccination trends using CDC immunization data, IIS (Immunization Information Systems), and IQVIA data
  • Analyze endemic vs. non-endemic market dynamics and their implications for Hepatitis B vaccine demand, pricing strategy, and commercial prioritization
  • Monitor and assess the impact of WHO prequalification status, GAVI market dynamics, and global public health program changes on Hepatitis B vaccine demand and competitive positioning
  • Build and maintain scalable, automated reporting pipelines and analytical tools using Python, R, SQL, or equivalent programming languages
  • Design KPI frameworks that capture the unique performance metrics of Hepatitis B vaccination programs — including birth dose coverage rates, series completion rates, healthcare provider (HCP) penetration in OB/GYN, pediatric, travel medicine, and occupational health settings
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and integrity across all analytical outputs
  • Lead ad-hoc analytical investigations to answer critical business questions — diagnosing Hepatitis B performance gaps, identifying growth opportunities in under-vaccinated populations, and surfacing risks before they impact the business.
  • Own and maintain the Hepatitis B demand forecast models — building bottom-up, epidemiology-driven forecasts that account for birth cohort dynamics, vaccination coverage rates, catch-up population sizing, and public vs. private channel mix.
  • Develop and maintain scenario-based forecast models that capture the range of outcomes across key Hepatitis B demand drivers: immunization schedule changes, competitive entry, ACIP recommendation updates, public health program expansions, and endemic market dynamics.
  • Validate forecast assumptions through rigorous data analysis — stress-testing key drivers such as birth cohort sizes, vaccination coverage rates, series completion rates, competitive share shifts, and payer access changes.
  • Support scenario planning and sensitivity analyses by building the underlying data models and analytical frameworks that inform forecast ranges for the Hepatitis B portfolio.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure Hepatitis B demand forecasts are aligned with production planning cycles and inventory management requirements.
  • Support annual brand planning, long-range planning (LRP), and quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with Hepatitis B demand forecast outputs and analytical workstreams.
