About The Position

The Associate Director, Alumni Class Connections, within Alumni Relations, will develop and implement a strategy to increase the engagement lifecycle for the youngest alumni (0-10 years out) through their partnership with the MITAA. This role will guide the MIT 10 Council to develop engaging programming ideas and connection opportunities. The position will serve as the program lead for Pi and Tau Reunions, as well as the 15th and 20th reunion committees. Responsibilities include developing content for MIT10 alumni at Tech Reunion events and the Alumni Leadership Conference, and setting and executing the strategy for engaging current MIT students, stewarding them into the alumni experience upon graduation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of three years of experience in alumni relations, annual fund, marketing, or public relations in a university or nonprofit setting
  • Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, presentation, and oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Discretion and good judgment with confidential information
  • Proficiency with computers and standard applications (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Zoom)
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, approach work strategically, and welcome change
  • Must be able to recruit, motivate, train, and manage volunteers
  • Establish effective working relationships with colleagues, alumni, and other constituents
  • Collaborate as part of a team in a diverse service-oriented environment
  • Effectively develop and deliver training sessions
  • Influence others and move toward a common vision/goal
  • Multitask, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines without compromising quality in a demanding, high-volume work environment

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Ellucian Advance Web or other enterprise fundraising system
  • Data analysis, marketing, and/or public relations skills
  • Experience working in higher education advancement
