This role focuses on academic and study abroad advising, program management, marketing, and strategic planning within the International Programs division.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of academic and administrative policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge to facilitate the IP process and help students evaluate the experience.

  • Six years of full-time experience in study abroad programming, higher ed, and/or international business
  • Two years of supervisory experience and/or experience leading a team
  • Previous experience creating and/or managing a study abroad programs

Responsibilities

  • Research, document, and coordinate advising and administrative policies and procedures for international programs.
  • Provide academic and study abroad advising to UF undergraduates, State University System (SUS), and out-of-state students.
  • Assist students in selecting appropriate international programs that align with their academic and professional goals.
  • Guide students through the study abroad application process, including visa inquiries.
  • Collaborate with the University of Florida International Center (UFIC) to address student concerns.
  • Assist and advise students during critical or urgent situations using university and partner resources.
  • Present at study abroad sessions for GEB 2015 Intro to Business sections.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for 2-3 Heavener Sponsored Business (HSB) programs.
  • Collaborate with partners to ensure seamless pre-approval/nomination of students to study abroad programs.
  • Create a seamless advising process with partners to enhance student experience.
  • Ensure students complete applications in collaboration with UFIC.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts for UF exams with course instructors.
  • Register select HSB International Programs participants for UF classes and report registration information.
  • Conduct visa seminars and work with international partners for accurate visa application information.
  • Schedule and conduct pre-departure orientations for select HSB programs three times per year.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director to create and publish pre-departure guides for HSB programs.
  • Represent International Programs at study abroad fairs, Business Bash, and other recruiting events.
  • Continuously enhance program operations and efficiency with international partners to ensure quality student services.
  • Manage and promote study abroad opportunities for students.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of exams for HSB programs and UF online classes with relevant stakeholders.
  • Update textbook requirements for UF courses offered internationally.
  • Update academic calendars for HSB programs.
  • Assist in training new employees and student assistants on program processes and administration.
  • Assist in setting the strategy for promoting HSB programs to internationalize student curricula.
  • Create and manage events, including Study Abroad 101 info sessions.
  • Coordinate representation of International Programs at student organization meetings.
  • Serve as the point of contact for coordinating with campus stakeholders and representing International Programs at recruiting events.
  • Utilize social media and UF information networks to inform students of study abroad opportunities.
  • Coordinate study abroad info sessions for GEB 2015 Intro to Business sections and IP Staff.
  • Represent HSB International Programs at relevant conferences.
  • Produce timely program promotional material aligned with IP and HSB brand strategy.
  • Seek opportunities for international partnerships and collaborations to enhance the mission of International Programs and the Heavener School of Business.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of study abroad programs.
  • Collaborate with UF and international partners to enhance programs and increase study abroad participation.
  • Propose and develop new initiatives with the director.
  • Support new initiatives.
  • Evaluate program formatting and execution to enhance student participation and streamline delivery.
  • Collaborate with partners to enhance program operations.
  • Assist the Director in preparing reports and data for publication.
  • Coordinate and moderate the [REWIND] re-entry workshop.
  • Produce evaluation reports and distribute them to international partners and UFIC.
  • Assess the strengths and weaknesses of HSB sponsored programs and collaborate on efficiency and enhancement.
  • Develop assessment tools to determine program outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Manage program evaluations for sponsored programs.
  • Supervise the Academic Program Specialist I and their work related to HSB programs.
