About The Position

The Associate Director, Clinical Training – Women’s Health is responsible for leading the strategy, development, and execution of clinical training initiatives supporting the Women’s Health business unit. This role ensures the sales organization has a deep clinical understanding of Natera’s product portfolio and the clinical scenarios in which those products provide value. The Associate Director partners closely with Commercial, Medical Affairs, Product, and Marketing leadership to ensure training programs align with clinical evidence, market dynamics, and commercial strategy. This role also provides leadership and development for the Women’s Health clinical training team and plays a key role in shaping the overall clinical education strategy for the sales organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required; background in medical or biological sciences strongly preferred.
  • 5 – 8+ years of experience in the Laboratory Diagnostics or Genetics industry, including experience in clinical education, field-based medical roles, sales training, or related commercial functions.
  • 2 – 5+ years in leadership or management. managing trainers, programs or cross-functional initiatives, preferably supporting a large commercial organization.
  • Deep clinical understanding of genetic testing, diagnostic workflows, and Women’s Health clinical applications.
  • Strong ability to translate complex clinical concepts into clear, practical education for commercial teams.
  • Ability to translate clinical evidence into practical training programs that strengthen sales effectiveness.
  • Ability to problem-solve and resolve challenges in a timely, professional manner.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with experience guiding cross-functional collaboration across commercial and medical stakeholders.
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills, including the ability to educate large field audiences and present to senior leadership.
  • Expert understanding of adult learning principles and clinical education program design.
  • Strong organizational leadership and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously.
  • Expert-level presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Adaptability and strategic thinking in a rapidly evolving diagnostics and healthcare environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with training technologies including LMS platforms, virtual training tools, and sales enablement platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.

  • Advanced degree or certification in a relevant clinical field (e.g., Genetic Counseling) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic design, development, and execution of clinical training programs supporting the Women’s Health portfolio for a national sales organization of 300+ professionals.
  • Oversee the creation and continuous evolution of clinical education initiatives including new-hire onboarding, product education, clinical selling skills, and ongoing professional development.
  • Direct the planning, strategy, and execution of clinical training programs delivered at major commercial events including the Global Sales Meeting, Business Unit Sales Meetings, and other national training initiatives.
  • Lead the development and delivery of clinical product education programs delivered through live instruction, virtual learning environments, and hybrid training formats.
  • Ensure the sales organization is equipped to effectively communicate complex clinical concepts and articulate the clinical value of Natera’s Women’s Health portfolio within real-world patient care scenarios.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales Training, Product, Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Commercial leadership to align clinical training programs with product strategy, scientific evidence, and competitive positioning.
  • Monitor developments in the Women’s Health diagnostic and competitive landscape and incorporate relevant clinical insights into training programs.
  • Oversee development of training materials and digital learning assets including LMS modules, presentations, and clinical education resources.
  • Partner closely with the Associate Director of Sales Training – Women’s Health to ensure strong alignment between clinical education and sales training programs.
  • Engage regularly with field sales teams to assess clinical training needs, observe customer interactions, and provide leadership-level guidance on clinical messaging.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the Women’s Health clinical training team, including coaching, mentorship, and career development of team members supporting clinical education initiatives.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of clinical training programs through performance metrics, field feedback, and business outcomes, adjusting programs as needed to improve impact.
  • Partner with executive leadership to align training initiatives with key commercial KPIs and broader organizational objectives.
