About The Position

Forma.ai is a Series B startup that is revolutionizing how sales compensation is designed, managed, and optimized, handling billions in annual managed commissions for market leaders. The company is experiencing growth and is looking for driven individuals. This Associate-level DevOps role is hands-on, focusing on cloud automation, internal infrastructure, and maintaining an internal cloud-based application used across the company. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with engineering teams and senior DevOps staff to maintain, improve, and evolve internal cloud infrastructure and automation systems, contributing to tooling that supports every other team at Forma.ai. Additionally, the role serves as the primary IT presence in the Toronto office, supporting day-to-day IT operations.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience in IT operations, CloudOps, DevOps, or systems administration
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., IAM, EC2, Lambda) or equivalent services in another cloud platform
  • Exposure to containerization concepts and Kubernetes environments
  • Experience working with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform)
  • Experience writing or modifying scripts (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar) to automate operational tasks
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 or similar productivity platforms
  • Familiarity with identity management, SSO, and SaaS provisioning workflows
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills across both cloud systems and end-user environments
  • Ability to work independently in an in-office setting while collaborating with a distributed technical team
  • Clear communication skills and a strong sense of ownership
  • Comfort leveraging modern tooling (including AI-assisted development tools) to improve productivity and automation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with REST APIs or integrating SaaS platforms through automation
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar)
  • Exposure to CI/CD tooling or GitHub administration
  • Experience working in a SaaS or high-growth technology company
  • Exposure to AWS EKS or cluster autoscaling tools (e.g., Karpenter)

Responsibilities

  • Work with infrastructure defined using Terraform to support internal systems and automation workflows
  • Work with containerized workloads running in Kubernetes as part of our internal infrastructure
  • Assist with the deployment, troubleshooting, and maintenance of serverless functions and scheduled automation workflows
  • Manage IAM roles and permissions related to automation and internal tooling
  • Write and modify scripts (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar) to automate operational tasks
  • Help improve onboarding, offboarding, and access management automation
  • Participate in CI/CD workflows and infrastructure delivery processes as part of your growth in the role
  • Document automation workflows and operational runbooks
  • Act as the primary IT contact for the Toronto office
  • Manage device provisioning, enrollment, endpoint management (MDM), and hardware lifecycle processes
  • Administer Microsoft 365 and identity systems (e.g., Azure AD / Entra ID or similar)
  • Manage SaaS provisioning and deprovisioning across internal tools
  • Maintain least-privilege access and enforce access control best practices
  • Provide in-office and remote technical support for employees
  • Maintain hardware inventory and support office IT infrastructure
