About The Position

The Associate Designer- Interior Design will produce flexible, comprehensive, multi-media designs for GAC customers and prospective clients with minimal supervision. This role involves working directly with customers to capture design requirements and execute concepts that facilitate on-time definition. The designer will specify all interior components, ensuring compliance with FAA and GAC contractual guidelines. The position requires communication with Chairmen/CEOs of Fortune 500 companies and high net worth individuals to meet business objectives, representing the GAC Brand with professionalism, and supporting Studio and Principal Designers in communicating concepts. Responsibilities include assisting with the status of production for design drawings, material selections, and product development, and maintaining clear lines of communication with clients, operations, engineering, internal shops, and vendors. The role also involves supporting customer completions, developing knowledge of design trends and global cultural influences, and providing design support throughout the completion process. Additional duties include maintaining design libraries, concept development for client presentations, troubleshooting design issues, attending design reviews, and reviewing documents for accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Interior Design or related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Understanding of design principles, color theory, and textile and leather production techniques required.
  • Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aircraft interior design or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations relating to interior finish requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Produce flexible, comprehensive, multi-media designs for GAC customers and prospective clients with minimal supervision.
  • Work directly with customers to capture design requirements and execute concepts that facilitate on-time definition.
  • Specify all interior components ensuring all FAA and GAC contractual guidelines are met.
  • Communicate with Chairmen/CEOs of Fortune 500 companies and high net worth individuals to meet business objectives.
  • Represent the GAC Brand with professionalism and instill confidence within the customer.
  • Support Studio and Principal Designers to communicate comprehensive and detailed concepts that effectively satisfy client requirements throughout the sales and design definition process and delivery.
  • Assist with status of production of design drawings, material selections and product development to GACs engineering and production departments in a timely manner for completion of contracts to ensure that delivery schedules are met with accuracy.
  • Initiate and develop quality relationships with clients, operations and engineering management, internal shops, and vendors, to keep clear lines of communication and execute on the client’s expectations.
  • Support customer completions to produce, maintain, and archive the specification and design package with supervision.
  • Develop knowledge of design trends and global cultural influences.
  • Provide design support throughout the entire completion process to ensure design quality and fidelity of design execution.
  • Assist in maintaining design libraries and showrooms.
  • Concept development of client presentations.
  • Troubleshoot design related issues with other Designers and internal departments.
  • Attend internal and external design reviews.
  • Review all documents for accuracy prior to release.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
