About The Position

The Associate Designer- Interior Design will produce flexible, comprehensive, multi-media designs for GAC customers and prospective clients with supervision. This role involves working directly with customers to capture design requirements and execute concepts that facilitate on-time definition. The designer will specify all interior components, ensuring compliance with all FAA and GAC contractual guidelines. The position requires communication with Chairmen/CEOs of Fortune 500 companies and high net worth individuals to meet business objectives, and representing the GAC Brand with professionalism to instill confidence within the customer. The Associate Designer will support Studio and Principal Designers in communicating comprehensive and detailed concepts that effectively satisfy client requirements throughout the sales and design definition process and delivery. They will also assist with the status of production of design drawings, material selections, and product development to GAC's engineering and production departments in a timely manner for completion of contracts to ensure that delivery schedules are met with accuracy. This role requires extensive worldwide travel, possibly on short notice, and the ability to initiate and develop quality relationships with clients, operations and engineering management, internal shops, and vendors to maintain clear lines of communication and execute client expectations. The Associate Designer will support customer completions to produce, maintain, and archive the specification and design package with supervision, and develop knowledge of design trends and global cultural influences. They will provide design support throughout the entire completion process to ensure design quality and fidelity of design execution. Additional duties include assisting in maintaining design libraries and showrooms, concept development of client presentations, troubleshooting design-related issues with other Designers and internal departments, attending internal and external design reviews, and reviewing all documents for accuracy prior to release. The role also includes performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Interior Design or related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Understanding of design principles, color theory, and textile and leather production techniques required.
  • Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aircraft interior design or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations relating to interior finish requirements preferred.
