About The Position
The Associate Graphic Designer for Nautica contributes to the development of seasonal concepts and works with the cross functional team to create innovative Men’s graphics that support the brand and the financial goals of the category. He/she leverages trend awareness, creativity, and relationship building skills to fulfill these objectives.
Requirements
- Must have experience within apparel, (tees, hoodies, etc.)
- Ability to innovate and think creatively
- Strong sketching skills
- Understanding of the youth market and Aero customer
- Ability to multi-task and shift priorities
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in, Photoshop, & Illustrator
Responsibilities
- Design innovative Men’s apparel graphics that are aligned with overall seasonal design direction
- Creatively explore all apparel graphics, new techniques and materials
- Collaborate to develop creative typographic and layout solutions
- Use trend intelligence and an understanding of the current and historical business to design and execute specific categories
- Develop strong working relationships with cross functional team members (Merchandising, Production and Design) through communication and problem solving
- Understand the fundamentals of the production process as it impacts graphic design projects
- Adapt all approved layouts to various formats
- Prepare inspiration/trend boards using creative methods
- Manage deadlines in accordance with the corporate calendar
- Maintain project libraries; compile all reference material together with program files
