Caterpillar’s Large Power Systems Division has an opening for an Associate Engineer on the Fuel Systems solenoid team. In this role located in Mossville IL, you would join a team of engineers developing and supporting electromagnetic solenoids for Caterpillar fuel injectors and pumps. The position works at the intersection between electrical and mechanical engineering and offers a breadth of technical opportunities: supplier collaboration, technical problem-solving, detailed design, hands-on testing, quality issue resolution, new product introduction, design validation, and manufacturing implementation.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.
  • Basic understanding of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Working knowledge of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Working knowledge of the types, features and tools of 3D software; ability to use, implement, test and upgrade the software package in the process of 3D models production.
  • Basic understanding of product testing approaches, techniques and tools; ability to design, plan and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure product quality at all stages of manufacturing.
  • Basic understanding of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing or product development environment.
