The Design Engineering team in the Space & Defense Group is looking for an Associate Design Engineer to join them. This role reports to the Mechanical Engineering Manager and requires an onsite work schedule in East Aurora, NY.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 0-3 years design/drafting experience
  • Working knowledge of engineering principles, documentation standards, and drafting practices.
  • Experience communicating with the technical community, including customers and vendors.
  • Experience and in-depth knowledge with mechanical CAD (MCAD) tools.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Siemens NX MCAD design software and Teamcenter PLM is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Understanding and translating project requirements emanating from a variety of sources, creating computer models, layouts, detailed engineering drawings.
  • Contributing to a cost-effective design and functional products by working closely with Design Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Creating and checking detail drawings for completeness and accuracy, ensures the Bill of Material (Parts List) for product design is accurate and complete.
  • In conjunction with Engineering, ensures basic integrity of designs and layouts using correctness of proportionality, sizing, dimensional accuracy, tolerance limits, and conforming to Moog’s use of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) application practices.
  • Suggesting or specifying materials to conform to design requirements and assist in the selection of acceptable processing procedures.
