About The Position
The Denver District Attorney’s Office has immediate openings for the position of Deputy District Attorney. We offer competitive salaries that reflect relevant work history. The Associate Deputy District Attorney role involves representing the People of the State of Colorado in complex criminal prosecutions, including organized crime, gang-related violence, large-scale drug distribution, racketeering, conspiracy, and coordinated multi-defendant cases. This role also provides legal counsel to state and federal law enforcement agencies across the Denver Metro Area and collaborates with investigative partners to target, develop, and oversee long-term investigations leading to case filing and prosecution. The working environment is fast-paced and high-stakes, sometimes requiring long or irregular hours, including evenings or weekends. The DA's Office is a mission-driven environment where attorneys make a significant difference through sustained effort and collaboration.
Requirements
- Doctor of Jurisprudence degree or Bachelor of Laws degree.
- Five (5) years of experience as an attorney at law as a prosecutor
- Possession of a license to practice law in Colorado from the Colorado Supreme Court by the date of hire or a reasonable expectation of becoming licensed by the Colorado Supreme Court by the date of hire in accordance with C.R.C.P. 203.2, 203.3, 203.4 and 205.6.
- Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
- Strong organization, diligence, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple demanding investigations and court responsibilities

Responsibilities
- Investigate and prosecute organized-crime, gang-related violence, and/or large-scale narcotic distribution cases
- Manage complex, multi-defendant prosecutions including conspiracies, organized crime groups, criminal enterprises, large-scale narcotics traffickers, and gangs involved in shootings or violent acts.
- Provide ongoing legal guidance to detectives and agents during active investigations.
- Advise on target selection, evidence collection techniques, and charging strategies.
- Review and approve associated search and arrest warrants.
- Direct investigative follow-up
- Collaborate with law enforcement, community partners, and intelligence units to identify emerging gang trends and criminal networks
- Assist fellow deputies in the prosecution of gang-related crimes, violent crimes connected to organized groups, and major drug distribution cases
