About The Position

This role involves assisting and supporting Defined Contribution Specialists in the field with all aspects of the firm’s retirement business. The Associate will have sole responsibility for growing Janus Henderson’s presence with a meaningful roster of smaller Retirement-specific clients, including mid-market consultants, plan advisors, and record keeper wholesalers. The goal is to thoughtfully grow firm-wide retirement AUM with Janus Henderson strategies by supporting the implementation of effective acquisition and retention efforts. The role requires partnering with DSA colleagues to coordinate, collect, and disseminate Retirement-specific sales data, and partnering with Marketing colleagues to lead the development of campaigns, programs, sales tools, presentations, and blog posts for the entire retirement marketplace. The Associate will develop and support relationships in the defined contribution space, including RIAs, Record Keepers, and Plan advisors. This role requires close collaboration with other departments, such as marketing, product development, and client service teams, to ensure that sales strategies are aligned with the broader goals of Janus Henderson and client needs. The Associate will develop expertise and run custom reports using Bright Scope and Morningstar tools, and leverage AI (MS co-pilot) to document the team’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and build efficiencies around advisor outreach and communications. Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service and sales skills
  • Proven success building strong intra-company relationships that advance overall business and serve clients
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong understanding of intermediary sales and processes
  • Strong understanding of financial marketplace, including in-depth knowledge of how products are priced, packaged, and positioned in the defined contribution and general retirement space
  • Strong business acumen with a thorough understanding of the asset management business
  • High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to conceive, direct and execute strategic projects from start to finish
  • Ability to break down barriers, solve cross-functional issues, build strategic relationships and gain consensus for programs and projects
  • Knowledge of Defined Contribution distribution channel and overall Retirement market
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and client demands simultaneously
  • Thorough understanding of FINRA compliance requirements
  • Strong computer skills including MS Word, Power Point, Excel, Salesforce and Seismic
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Series 7 & 63 securities licenses
