About The Position

We are seeking a data analyst with a minimum of three years’ experience to clean, structure and process data from primary market research. An understanding of quantitative marketing research techniques, tools, processes, and procedures is preferred. Experience in primary market research is required. You must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and be detail-oriented, flexible and above all, collaborative. The range of duties includes enforcing data quality control protocols, cleaning and structuring data sets, generating data cross tabulations and conducting a variety of analytical procedures. In this role, you will be working closely with the Sr. Director of Custom Research, various Research Managers, the Director of Marketing Sciences, fellow Data Analysts and various Publishing department personnel.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant experience as a data analyst/data processor with a track record of high performance
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, manage, and effectively deliver on multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with statistical packages for analyzing large datasets, specifically, SPSS, R, WinCross and/or Excel
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • BS or MS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics
  • Superior customer focus, and willingness to work evenings and weekends if needed to support our clients
  • A can-do, positive and collaborative attitude, with a willingness to support the development of team members across the organization
  • Experience in primary market research is required
  • Detail-oriented, flexible and collaborative

Nice To Haves

  • An understanding of quantitative marketing research techniques, tools, processes, and procedures is preferred
  • Understanding of market research processes highly desired
  • Knowledge of Python, Javascript and/or XML helpful but not required provided you can demonstrate an understanding of survey logic and the potential to acquire the necessary expertise

Responsibilities

  • Clean and structure complex data sets in SPSS/alternate platforms, including AI-based apps
  • Analyze/interpret results using common statistical techniques in SPSS and other programs as assigned
  • Produce client-friendly data cross-tabulations in WinCross, JMP and alternate platforms, including our in-house survey platform, MarketOnce
  • Perform various quality assurance tasks, including QA on in-progress surveys
  • Develop and maintain databases/data systems
  • Develop new process improvements as necessary
