About The Position

Function Health is seeking an Associate Creative Director to lead the conceptual and executional direction of the brand's creative output. This role requires a blend of big-platform thinking and hands-on craft, developing ideas from brief to final execution across all brand touchpoints. The ACD will drive the creative development of campaigns, social content, brand moments, and hero executions, bringing a strong conceptual point of view and a sharp understanding of social media resonance. The ideal candidate will translate Function's mission into clear, compelling, and culturally relevant work that performs across platforms. This is a social-first creative role with strong content instincts, requiring the ability to concept, script, and create ideas native to current audience engagement with content. The candidate should be a creative leader capable of concepting, writing, scripting, and art directing, while maintaining focus on the work. They should be energized by fast-paced environments, committed to excellence, and motivated by the mission of helping people live longer, healthier lives. Requirements

  • 8–10+ years of experience in creative roles at an agency, in-house brand team, or content studio—with a portfolio that demonstrates exceptional conceptual thinking, strong storytelling, and platform-native execution.
  • Proven experience developing campaigns and content specifically built for social—you understand the nuances of each platform and know how to make content that performs.
  • Strong conceptual foundation: the ability to develop a platform idea, script compelling creative narratives, and extend concepts across multiple formats, channels, and moments.
  • Demonstrated experience creating social-first content and creative systems that balance brand storytelling with audience engagement and platform behavior.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring creative talent, with a track record of elevating team output.
  • Fluent across both copy and art direction—you can concept in words or pictures, and ideally both.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with the ability to champion ideas in a room.
  • Ability to move fast without sacrificing quality—comfortable operating in a high-growth environment where priorities shift and speed matters.

Responsibilities

  • Lead conceptual development for brand campaigns, platform-defining content, and hero creative moments across all channels.
  • Drive platform thinking—developing creative strategies and executions that are specifically built for social, with a deep understanding of how content behaves on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and beyond.
  • Concept, write, and script content across formats including video, social, OOH, digital, experiential, and emerging platforms—bringing ideas to life from early concept through final execution.
  • Develop social-first creative ideas and content systems designed to drive engagement, conversation, and cultural relevance across owned and paid channels.
  • Manage and mentor junior creatives, providing clear direction, thoughtful feedback, and a creative environment where great work can thrive.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Brand, Marketing, Clinical, and Production teams to ensure creative work is aligned, on-strategy, and executed with precision.
  • Develop and maintain a strong, consistent brand voice and visual identity across all touchpoints.
  • Present and defend creative work to internal stakeholders, clearly articulating the strategic rationale behind concepts.
  • Stay ahead of cultural trends, platform shifts, creator behaviors, and competitive creative to ensure Function's work remains fresh, relevant, and category-leading.
