About The Position

The Consultant, Valuation (“Consultant”) works independently on valuations on a variety of complex assignments with a solid understanding of appraisal principals as it relates to a multitude of asset types. Actively engages with clients to gain an understanding of the client request and information request. The Consultant is involved in the preparation of more complex valuation reports which includes active engagement with peers in the industry, conducting independent research with strong analytical skills in support of the Property Valuation practice. The Consultant contributes to the software databases to ensure excellent quality of inputs to facilitate report integrity. Understanding of property tax and the appeal process is an asset. The Consultant is responsible for creating positive team member experiences, which lead to excellent client service. The Consultant is responsible for creating positive team member experiences, which lead to excellent client service and drive revenue and profit for the Firm. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with strong people skills with a drive to be a leader. The successful candidate will be effective in researching issues, reconciling issues, and completing detailed calculations. Requirements

  • Post-Secondary Degree required with preference having a business (real estate) background.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in valuation.
  • Desire to perform in a high-energy team environment.
  • Demonstrates leadership, problem solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, manage ambiguity and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet navigation and research.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Ryan LLC (i.e., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (OPT), TN visa or any other non-immigrant status).

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of property tax and the appeal process is an asset.
  • Path to AACI designation nearing completion is an asset.
  • Experience with appraisal related programs such as Argus are an asset.
  • Seeks to advance involvement in the real estate industry through attending professional organization meetings and networking functions.

Responsibilities

  • Engages with and responds to client inquiries and requests.
  • Actively engages with client upon report completion to discuss any valuation questions that may arise.
  • Undertakes research and critical thinking and completes more complex valuation reports independently with peer review.
  • Is able to communicate and liaise with industry experts.
  • Shows diligence in meeting monthly budget targets with a work ethic to excel.
  • Has achieved AACI or completed demo being one of the final steps to achieve the AACI, P.App.
  • Mentors an Analyst on basic appraisal practice.
