About The Position

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is hiring an Associate or Mid-Level Components/Product Follow Engineer (Material Process Engineer) in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, to support the Sentinel program. Relocation assistance may be available. The position supports component engineering and product follow activities, working with design, hardware, manufacturing, test, supply chain, and program subcontractors to address component and hardware needs and issues. In the Components Engineering function, the engineer creates EEE and mechanical component specifications or source control documents; helps select, apply, and qualify components; interprets component requirements for subcontractors; and supports procurement requirements, supplier selection, and resolution of component-related procurement issues. The engineer uses Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools to manage part requests, records, and attributes, and applies knowledge of electrical part terminations when screening and selecting components. In Product Follow, the engineer reviews and dispositions CMRs, ECs, BOM errors, and related issues; coordinates actions across functions to close part- and assembly-level issues; and creates or revises drawings in support of product follow and component changes. The engineer tracks actions in PLM and related systems and provides feedback to improve component selection, producibility, and reliability. Travel is listed as 10% of the time. The role requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, as well as eligibility to obtain enhanced security clearances within a reasonable time as determined by the company.
