About The Position

The Associate Cloud Engineer supports the deployment, configuration, and day-to-day operation of cloud infrastructure in regulated healthcare environments while building foundational expertise in cloud technologies and operational best practices. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, this role assists with infrastructure automation, system monitoring, deployments, troubleshooting, and security configuration across cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS). The Associate Cloud Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to maintain reliable, secure, and scalable environments while documenting processes and continuously developing technical skills in cloud infrastructure, containerization, and infrastructure as code. This position is not available for visa sponsorship. This position is not eligible for relocation assistance

Requirements

  • Familiarity with at least one public cloud platform such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform through coursework, internships, certifications, labs, or professional experience.
  • Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts including compute, storage, networking, and security services.
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code concepts and tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts such as Domain Name System (DNS), firewalls, virtual networks, and load balancing.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively communicate technical information to team members.
  • Familiarity with security concepts such as Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).

Nice To Haves

  • Cloud certification such as Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure AZ-900, or similar foundational certification.
  • Exposure to container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS).
  • Familiarity with version control tools such as GitHub or GitLab.
  • Exposure to Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) concepts and deployment pipelines.
  • Basic understanding of monitoring, observability, and alerting concepts.
  • Exposure to healthcare compliance frameworks such as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), or Service Organization Control (SOC) 2.
  • Exposure to artificial intelligence or machine learning services used for cloud operations, automation, or observability.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with provisioning and configuring public cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation following established designs and procedures.
  • Support day-to-day operation of cloud services such as compute, storage, networking, and database platforms in Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Execute routine operational tasks and monitoring activities using established runbooks, automation tools, and standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and alerts using tools such as CloudWatch or Azure Monitor and escalate issues to senior engineers as appropriate.
  • Apply basic security controls such as Identity and Access Management (IAM), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and encryption configurations under guidance.
  • Assist with deployment and support of containerized workloads using technologies such as Docker, Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS), or Kubernetes.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, security, and support teams to investigate incidents, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in application and infrastructure deployment activities while adhering to established change management processes and procedures.
  • Document operational procedures, known issues, and technical configurations to support team knowledge sharing.
  • Develop foundational scripting and automation skills using technologies such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash to improve operational efficiency.
