About The Position

Under the general direction from the Associate Director of Clinical Services, the Associate Clinician is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of a wide range of patients presented to the clinic. They participate in preventative mental health programs as a consultant and leader of workshops, and provide specialized services in at least one major program. This role also involves crisis/liaison services, including regular intervention with emergency situations and highly acute patient situations. This is a one-year term-limited appointment with the potential for renewal for an additional year or longer, contingent upon funding availability.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Master degree in Mental Health Counseling or related field (LMHC track), or doctorate degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (PhD, PsyD, EdD, etc.).
One year of experience in delivering psychotherapy services.
On-call responsibility requires after hours' time.

Responsibilities

Conducts evaluation, crisis interventions, and brief psychotherapies for a wide variety of clients (individuals, couples, families, groups) presenting to the clinic.
Participates in on-call responsibilities in regular rotation for urgent and emergency situations in 24–48-hour stints, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Performs specialized tasks as defined with the Director.
May functionally supervise trainees and teach within training programs.
Provides community consultations and workshops.
Prepares timely written documentation of activities as required.
Understands and contributes to the implementation of departmental and institutional goals for achieving non-discrimination and creating a multicultural environment.
Understands responsibilities related to HIPPA, EMR system compliance, FERPA, state laws, and professional ethical guidelines.
Performs related duties as assigned or required.
Understands responsibilities with respect to Title IX, Clery, and other compliance requirements.
Demonstrates capacity, skill, and willingness to engage students and contribute to student success.
Understands responsibilities with respect to conflicts of interest and behaves in ways consistent both with law and with university policy.
Contributes toward creating a positive and respectful workplace.
