About The Position

Under the general direction from the Associate Director of Clinical Services, the Associate Clinician is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of a wide range of patients presented to the clinic. They participate in preventative mental health programs as a consultant and leader of workshops, and provide specialized services in at least one major program. This role also involves crisis/liaison services, including regular intervention with emergency situations and highly acute patient situations. This is a one-year term-limited appointment with the potential for renewal for an additional year or longer, contingent upon funding availability.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Master degree in Mental Health Counseling or related field (LMHC track), or doctorate degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (PhD, PsyD, EdD, etc.).
  • One year of experience in delivering psychotherapy services.
  • On-call responsibility requires after hours' time.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts evaluation, crisis interventions, and brief psychotherapies for a wide variety of clients (individuals, couples, families, groups) presenting to the clinic.
  • Participates in on-call responsibilities in regular rotation for urgent and emergency situations in 24–48-hour stints, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Performs specialized tasks as defined with the Director.
  • May functionally supervise trainees and teach within training programs.
  • Provides community consultations and workshops.
  • Prepares timely written documentation of activities as required.
  • Understands and contributes to the implementation of departmental and institutional goals for achieving non-discrimination and creating a multicultural environment.
  • Understands responsibilities related to HIPPA, EMR system compliance, FERPA, state laws, and professional ethical guidelines.
  • Performs related duties as assigned or required.
  • Understands responsibilities with respect to Title IX, Clery, and other compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrates capacity, skill, and willingness to engage students and contribute to student success.
  • Understands responsibilities with respect to conflicts of interest and behaves in ways consistent both with law and with university policy.
  • Contributes toward creating a positive and respectful workplace.
  • Uses access to sensitive and/or not yet public university-related information only in the performance of the responsibilities of the position and exercises care to prevent unnecessary disclosure to others.
