About The Position

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Nashville is accepting applications for a full-time clinical instructor for its Practical Nursing Program. This role is responsible for the supervision and education of students enrolled in the program. The candidate must pass a background check.

Requirements

Associate degree in nursing.
Current/active Registered Nursing license in the State of Tennessee.
Minimum of three years’ recent work experience in patient care nursing at the R.N. level.
Communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher.
Evidence of good character, organizational skills, and mature attitude.
Willingness to remain current in the nursing profession.
Must pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

B.S.N. degree.
Teaching experience.

Responsibilities

Assisting in planning, developing, and initiating clinical learning experiences in the clinical setting.
Maintaining student records for documentation and evaluation of clinical performance.
Developing courses of study and conducting training programs.
Conferring with administration to gain knowledge and better understand changes in policies, procedures, and technologies.
Formulating clinical calendars and communicating with students via electronic formats.
Maintaining student records and reports.
Responsible for student placement and assisting with student follow-up.
Cooperating with outside agencies, working with program advisory committees, conducting visits to business and industry, and establishing and maintaining good public relations with the school’s general public.
Participating in student recruitment.
Supervising student’s clinical experiences as scheduled.
Actively seeking potential clinical sites for the provision of clinical training.
Performing other duties as assigned by the President, Vice President, and Director of Allied Health.
