Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Active medical assistant certification (CMA, CCMA, NCMA, or RMA) or nursing assistant certification (CNA).
  • CPR certified upon hire or ability to obtain within 30 days
  • 1+ years in a medical office, experience with EMR, medical terminology, and previous experience in the medical field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electronic medical records (ECW)
  • 1+ year working of clinical experience
  • 1+ year customer service experience
  • Knowledge of insurance carriers and managed care plans
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to work independently and as a team, and maintain good judgment and accountability
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for call backs and referrals
  • Handle referrals of patients who are inside and outside of the practice, check on the status of referrals and communicate with patients providing status of referrals.
  • Responsible for facilitating the calls and voicemails from patients pertaining to concerns, questions, refills and appropriately documenting in patient chart via telephone encounters.
  • Call back and referral employees work under the direct supervision of their provider and will advise the provider as appropriate to take care of patient needs.

  • Referrals
  • Documenting notes in Referrals
  • Documentation on Telephone encounters
  • Creating Telephone encounters
  • Accessing and Checking outlook Email
  • E-Faxing
  • Telephone Etiquette
  • Accessing and Checking Voicemails
  • Checking E-Fax daily
  • Signatures on results from providers before scanning documents.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
