About The Position

Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC is seeking an Associate, Client Services – Operations in Chicago, Illinois. This role involves creating and maintaining dashboards and reports to identify process bottlenecks, reduce operational costs, ensure regulatory compliance, enhance client satisfaction through faster processing, and improve overall employee productivity. The position also includes client service and relationship support, risk management, and regulatory adherence. Key responsibilities involve operational risk management for the account opening workflow, identifying and managing risks, implementing controls, and collaborating with cross-functional teams for accurate reporting. The role requires working with Compliance to define and implement firm policies and controls to minimize risk, and partnering with engineering teams on system enhancements. Additionally, the Associate will design procedures reflecting changing regulatory requirements, review legal structures, collect due diligence documents, and manage new client trading accounts and existing client features. Maintaining relationships with institutional clients, facilitating front-to-back coordination, and escalating potential relationship issues are also crucial. The role emphasizes ensuring due diligence is performed to comply with "Know Your Customer" regulations to prevent financial crimes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative and analytical field.
  • Two (2) years of experience in job offered or a related role.
  • Two (2) years of experience with analyzing large data sets of 10,000+ lines and synthesizing into key themes or action items.
  • Two (2) years of experience with analyzing data and configuring operational metrics through one of the following self-service tools: Alteryx, Tableau, SQL, Data Warehousing, Defensive Design Methods and RPA robotics.
  • Two (2) years of experience working on multiple, time-sensitive projects in partnership with global teams and cross-functions and ensuring timely delivery with high quality to meet client or business expectations.
  • Two (2) years of experience identifying and mitigating operational risks, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements (including "Know Your Customer" (KYC) regulations), defining and implementing business policies, and overseeing critical workflows such as account opening.
  • Two (2) years of experience engaging with institutional clients, fostering relationships, coordinating trading activities, managing client data quality, and collaborating with engineering teams to understand specific trading strategies, determine individual needs, and design and implement system improvements for efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain dashboards and reports to provide insights to identify process bottlenecks, reduce operational costs, ensure regulatory compliance, enhance client satisfaction through faster processing, and improve overall employee productivity.
  • Engage in client service and relationship support, risk management, regulatory adherence, and other related tasks.
  • Provide operational risk management and oversight for the Firm's account opening workflow and processes, including identifying and managing potential risks in the daily business operations, implementing controls to mitigate risk and working with cross-function teams to enable accurate reporting.
  • Work with Compliance to define and implement firm policies and controls that minimize market or earnings risk to the firm and closely work with engineering teams to design new system enhancements to improve efficiencies, ranging from small enhancements to large-scale, global initiatives.
  • Design procedures to reflect changing regulatory requirements and limit risk, review legal structures of various entities, collect, and prepare due diligence documents, and complete other administrative tasks to ensure client expectations are met.
  • Create all new client trading accounts and coordinate additional trading features and account types for existing clients, including client maintenance and data quality management.
  • Maintain and establish relationships with institutional clients, help facilitate the front-to-back coordination, facilitate setup of trading relationships, and timely and effectively escalate potential relationship issues that threaten the firm's market position and devise possible resolutions.
  • Ensure that due diligence is performed to protect the firm's assets by complying with “Know Your Customer” regulations to prevent and detect money laundering, corruption, and other financial crimes.
