About The Position

The Associate Client Manager, Commercial Risk serves as a technical resource for clients, advisors, Insurance Company Partners and prospects while providing prompt, efficient, high-quality service for designated accounts within our prestigious Construction Practice. The position involves managing all policy activity aspects of assigned accounts, including endorsements and invoicing, and maintaining a concern for timeliness and completeness to minimize potential for errors and omissions claims. This role also involves receiving inquiries for quotes, changes, and new policies, determining acceptability and placement, completing applications, and reviewing existing accounts for opportunities to solicit additional lines of insurance. Cultivating strong relationships with Insurance Company Partners and understanding their requirements are key aspects of this role, along with identifying opportunities for firm improvement and bringing issues to leadership.

Requirements

  • Ability to forge relationships with key insurance markets and carrier representatives
  • Strong technical knowledge of general insurance market conditions and specific insurance carrier underwriting appetites
  • Ability to analyze complex risk exposures, existing insurance coverages, and develop appropriate recommendations for clients and prospects
  • Ability to work as part of a team of professionals and build relationships with other Firm business segments
  • Demonstrates Firm’s behavioral tenets, exuding behavior that is aligned with corporate culture
  • At least 3-5 years of related insurance experience, or associated industry experience -- Risk Management and Relating Degrees are applicable with regards to relating experience
  • Obtain and maintain a Property & Casualty state insurance license or other state insurance license(s), as required by the State Department of Insurance to provide risk management consulting or risk transfer solutions as necessary in states where the firm functions (or be willing and able to obtain all required licenses within the first 90 days of employment).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for gathering the information and risk management recommendations for renewals and for delivering renewals and/or binders as needed.
  • Assists in managing all policy activity aspects of assigned accounts including endorsements and invoicing.
  • Maintains a concern for timeliness and completeness when interacting with clients, the organization and Insurance Company Partners to minimize potential for errors and omissions claims.
  • Receives phone calls and office visitors requesting quotes, changes to existing coverage and/or new policies.
  • Determines acceptability and placement, completes applications or endorsements, and collects premium when applicable.
  • Reviews existing accounts to determine if additional lines of insurance should be solicited and does so by mail and/or phone prior to renewal.
  • Cultivates strong relationships with Insurance Company Partners and is responsible for knowing carrier requirements and attributes.
  • Looks for opportunities to improve the firm, business segment and processes.
  • Brings issues and discrepancies to appropriate leadership.
