About The Position
Tokio Marine HCC – Surety Group is hiring an Associate Claims Examiner to investigate and analyze surety bond claims. The position is based in the company’s Los Angeles office and is described as in-office. The successful candidate will learn the company’s surety bond business, systems, processes, and claims terminology, then progress to evaluating straightforward claims and managing an individual caseload. With experience, the examiner will develop the skills to handle more intricate and complex claims.
Requirements
- Up to two years of relevant professional experience.
- Customer service mindset and consistently courteous interactions.
- Ability to understand technical information and legal jargon quickly.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Teamwork, planning, and organizational skills.
- Facility with using multiple systems and programs and tracking information.
Responsibilities
- Objectively investigate and analyze surety bond claims.
- Learn and apply surety bond concepts, claims terminology, company systems, and processes.
- Evaluate straightforward surety bond claims.
- Manage an individual caseload by investigating and analyzing claims.
- Communicate written claim determinations effectively and with a customer service mindset.
- Develop analytical, oral communication, and written communication skills to handle increasingly complex claims.
