About The Position

Pennoni is hiring an Associate Civil Engineer to join its team on a full-time, direct basis in the Clearwater or Tampa area. The role works on a variety of public and private site development projects and contributes to conceptual planning, preliminary design, detailed development, construction documentation, permitting documentation, and engineering reports. The engineer works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team under the supervision of a senior Professional Engineer and assists with mentoring junior-level staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of professional engineering experience, preferably with land or site design projects.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with minimal supervision while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work in an energetic, challenging environment, multitask, and prioritize assignments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• FE or EIT certification.
• Experience with stormwater management, particularly hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools; HydroCAD experience is a plus.
• At least 3–5 years of land development design experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including grading, stormwater, sanitary sewer, and water line design.
• Ability to prepare site plan packages for submission to local jurisdictions.
• Proficiency with basic office software, especially Microsoft Office 365.

Responsibilities

• Prepare site plan development drawings using land survey data and ensure the site plan package complies with municipal regulations.
• Design and detail site layout, removals, grading, and utilities.
• Design and detail stormwater management, including hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, erosion and sediment control, and related design calculations.
• Prepare permit applications and reports.
• Assist with mentoring junior-level staff.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team under the supervision of a senior Professional Engineer.
