Vanderbilt continues to be a national leader in healthcare, with achievements including one of the nation’s busiest critical care centers, the world’s busiest heart, lung, and liver transplant program, a successful NRP program for organ procurement, and an established ECMO program. The recent expansion, the Jim Ayers Tower, adds 180 inpatient beds, state-of-the-art operating rooms, radiology, and acute care facilities, and expands heart and lung transplant services.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved discipline specific program
  • LIC-Clinical Perfusionist - TennesseeTennessee
  • 5 years relevant work experience
  • Cardiopulmonary Perfusion (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate cardiopulmonary perfusion knowledge in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Generally works under the direction of others while accomplishing assignments.
  • Procedures Knowledge (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate procedures knowledge in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Generally works under the direction of others while accomplishing assignments.
  • Training & Development (Novice): Has presented course modules as part of a program. Effectively prepared by demonstrating knowledge in course content, structure and objectives, as well as audience characteristics. Demonstrated audience sensitivity and awareness. Responded professionally to content questions.
  • Medical Terminology & Documentation (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate medical terminology and documentation in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
  • Equipment Maintenance (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate the ability to maintain equipment, products, or systems in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Assures that parts inventory is sufficient.

  • Training & Development (Intermediate): Has delivered a program in its entirety. Managed the delivery of a program by a team of instructors, assuring attention to detail. Demonstrated the ability to deal with adversity and disruption during delivery. Established class leadership and credibility. Responsibilities

  • Assists the Cardiovascular Perfusion Technology program.
  • Oversees, guides and develops program curriculum.
  • Directs student and student related activities.
  • Performs all responsibilities of a staff perfusionist.
  • Additional duties may be assigned.
