About The Position

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai affiliated with New York City H + H/Queens has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Chief of Psychiatry. New York City H + H/Queens serves a multi-cultural population of adults, children and families. We offer a full array of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services: adult inpatient units, a Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP), a Mobile Crisis Unit, Adult Partial Hospitalization Program, Ambulatory Adult and Child Services, Assertive Community treatment programs, Collaborative care programs and Addiction Services.

Requirements

  • MD/DO degree
  • Board Certified
  • Valid New York State License
  • DEA number
  • Medicaid number
  • Strong clinical abilities
  • Leadership experience in ambulatory care settings
  • Psychiatry resident and medical school teaching experience
  • Communication and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prior management/leadership positions
  • Experience with academic medical centers and/or public health systems
  • Strong interest and experience with residency training

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the administration, planning, organizing and general management of adult outpatient services -Adult Mental Health Clinic, 2 ACT programs, collaborative program with Primary Care as well as new initiatives including Bridge to Home (transitional housing initiative) and Women’s Mental Health initiative with OB/GYN services.
  • Serve as the Associate Program Director for the Psychiatry Residency Program, with a focus on ambulatory care services.
  • Direct clinical work with clients.
