About The Position

CAN Community Health is looking for an Associate Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) who is passionate about serving individuals impacted by HIV, Hepatitis C, STI's, and other infectious diseases. This role is a full-time, day shift position with competitive pay and a generous benefits package. The ACMO will partner with the Chief Medical Officer in leading the organization’s medical services department, including medical, dental, behavioral health, clinical research, prevention, and nursing. The position focuses on implementing the overall vision for standard-of-care methodologies, provider support, and oversight of medical programs to meet patient needs and grant-funded care requirements. The ACMO will collaborate with clinical staff and teams across departments to ensure the highest standards of medical services and work with Quality and Credentialing Departments to improve clinical performance and maintain compliance.

Requirements

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the applicable state(s).
Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Infectious Disease, or another relevant specialty.
Current DEA registration and eligibility to prescribe controlled substances.
Basic Life Support Certification Required.
Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible clinical practice experience.
Substantial experience in HIV medicine and primary care.
Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality standards, and risk management principles.
Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have valid insurance and driver’s license.
Must be able to pass a Level I and Level II Background check.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of three (3) years of physician leadership, medical management, or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides expert medical and administrative knowledge.
Partners with the Chief Medical Officer in leading the organization’s medical services department (medical, dental, behavioral health, clinical research, prevention, and nursing).
Implements the overall vision for standard-of-care methodologies, provider support, and oversight of the organization's medical programs to meet patient needs and CAN Community Health’s grant-funded care requirements.
Works closely with clinical staff and teams across departments to ensure medical services meet the highest standards of excellence.
Works closely with the Quality and Credentialing Departments to improve clinical performance and maintain compliance with all credentialing standards.
