About The Position

ProSidian seeks an Associate Chemist | Chemistry (Chemist) for Program Support on an Exempt Basis for Working On-Site (Client Site) in The Southeast | South Atlantic | CONUS Area (Aiken, South Carolina). This is a Contract Contingent role, generally located across the Aiken, South Carolina region, supporting a High-hazard nuclear cleanup environment requiring disciplined staffing, safety, quality, security, and regulatory compliance. The role is aligned with the GSA Labor Category: Engineer / Scientist I and is principally focused on ProSidian Strategic Resourcing and Professional Staff Augmentation for Chemistry (Chemist) Solutions and Services. We seek Associate Chemist candidates with relevant Nuclear And Environmental Management Sector Experience to support professional services engagement for clients such as SRMC. This position may be a Contract Contingent or Contract W-2 (IRS-1099), but ProSidian reserves the right to convert it to a Full-Time ProSidian employed W-2 Position. The Associate Chemist will provide services and support aligned with the Chemistry (Chemist) Functional Area / Swim Lane / Category Discipline in the Nuclear And Environmental Management Industry Sector. This role focuses on Human Capital | Project Management | Engineering | Environmental | Compliance | Risk Management | IT Effectiveness | Business Process | Training Knowledge Management Solutions for clients such as Savannah River Mission Completion, LLC (SRMC), supporting the Liquid Waste Program. The position is generally located in Aiken, South Carolina, and across the Southeast | South Atlantic | CONUS Region, working On-Site (Client Site). The Associate Chemist will provide Chemistry (Chemist) Services and Solutions as a ProSidian Engagement Team Member, supporting chemical analysis activities through planning, analysis, coordination, documentation, compliance, quality assurance, and stakeholder support. The goal is to deliver reliable analytical results by strengthening methods, instruments, procedures, data quality, and laboratory performance.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related science from an accredited college or university
The use of protective clothing and respiratory equipment is required when working in a radioactive environment.
Primarily focused on Management and Financial Consulting, Acquisition and Grants Management Support, and Business Program and Project Management Services initiatives and aligned with Program Support activities Chemistry (Chemist) Functional Area Activities.
Analytical methods; laboratory testing; instrument installation and maintenance; troubleshooting; method validation; technical procedures; data review

Responsibilities

Safety is a primary responsibility in each job performed. Obtain safety training, obey safety rules, and make safety an integral part of each task. Take necessary steps to stop work if continuing the activity is unsafe or will create and unsafe condition.
Takes required safety and technical trainings necessary to work in assigned laboratory.
Follows analytical methods, plans and conducts lab tests in assigned area per laboratory administrative procedures.
Validates, and verifies analytical methods in assigned analytical area per laboratory administrative procedures.
Performs installation (with vendor when necessary), maintenance, troubleshooting of the assigned instrument, software, and laboratory facilities.
Writes technical procedures in accordance with validated analytical methods.
Other duties as assigned.
Provides technical oversight and subject matter expertise for laboratories.
Provides day-to-day support and analytical oversight of instrument and method development and troubleshooting.
Contributes to general improvement initiatives such as procedure/method development, technician skill enhancement/training, data review, error free reporting and/or integrated safety management systems.
