About The Position

Join the Capital Markets COO team as an Associate, where you'll play a key role in overseeing the business-as-usual (BAU) process for loading data into our client reporting tool. You'll work with large datasets, ensuring data is normalized for consistency across reporting periods and that client and business hierarchies are accurately reflected. You'll process any necessary amendments for prior periods and collaborate with stakeholders to maintain data integrity. In this role, you'll also be encouraged to identify opportunities to improve existing processes and explore new data sources to enrich our reporting capabilities. Your attention to detail and analytical mindset will help drive efficiencies and support better business decisions. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience working with data in a business or technical environment.
• Hands-on experience with Power Query, Alteryx, VBA, PowerBI, Generative AI, and Excel to analyze and visualize data.
• Strong analytical mindset; ability to work with complex datasets and identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Effective communication skills; ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience.
• Eagerness to continuously develop skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and process large volumes of data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with historical reporting.
• Oversee the BAU process for data loading, including processing prior period amendments and maintaining up-to-date client and business hierarchies.
• Identify and recommend enhancements to current processes, seeking efficiencies and automation opportunities.
• Research and integrate new data sources to enhance the quality and depth of client reporting.
• Work closely with team members and stakeholders to understand data requirements and resolve issues promptly.
• Leverage tools such as Power Query, PowerBI, Generative AI, and Excel to support data analysis and reporting.
