About The Position

The Buyer I is an entry-level individual contributor responsible for supporting day-to-day procurement execution, supplier follow-up, and purchasing system maintenance across the Supply Chain organization. This role supports timely material flow, accurate ERP data, and overall purchasing execution through expediting, status updates, documentation support, and surge support activities. This position is not aligned to a specific category and will provide support across procurement activities as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, operations, finance, or a related field.
  • Entry-level experience; internship, co-op, or prior experience in a business, supply chain, procurement, or operations support role is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining responsiveness and accountability.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with ERP (e.g. Costpoint) or MRP systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Expedite open purchase orders and follow up with suppliers on delivery commitments and schedule changes.
  • Support buyers with documentation, purchase order updates, and routine procurement transactions.
  • Update and maintain accurate purchasing data in the ERP system, including purchase order status, requisition updates, and related line notes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate system updates to support material visibility, procurement status, and business reporting.
  • Provide surge support across the procurement organization based on workload, shortages, and business priorities.
  • Assist in resolving routine supplier delivery issues through follow-up and internal coordination.
  • Support reporting, status reviews, and follow-up actions related to procurement activities.
  • Coordinate with buyers, planning, operations, and other internal stakeholders to ensure procurement information is current and accurate.
  • Escalate issues impacting delivery, system accuracy, or procurement execution to the appropriate level.
  • Help maintain data integrity across purchasing records and support continuous improvement in purchasing processes and status visibility.
