About The Position

At GT’s Living Foods, our Buyers play a critical role in holding suppliers accountable to the accepted purchasing methods, policies, and procedures of the Company. The Buyer is responsible for supporting the procurement function of a commodity from intent to purchase through delivery of commodity.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of in purchasing, buying and/or procurement; CPG and/or packaging/indirect is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced in Microsoft Excel, Experienced with Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) and familiarity to ERP/Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Proficient negotiation skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytic skills with the ability to independently utilize various data points to drive decisions
  • Ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment and set, meet, and manage competing deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize department and company objectives
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and manage supplier relationships

Nice To Haves

  • CPG and/or packaging/indirect is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or related is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support procurement activities for assigned commodities from requisition through delivery.
  • Analyze market trends, pricing, and delivery conditions to assess current and future material availability.
  • Generate market analysis reports to support purchasing decisions and sourcing strategies.
  • Evaluate vendor quotations for quality, cost, delivery, and overall value.
  • Assist with supplier selection and sourcing activities.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure high-quality products and services at competitive prices.
  • Uphold company standards for quality, ethics, compliance, and professional conduct in all procurement activities.
  • Prepare, issue, and review purchase orders, change notices, bids, vendor agreements, and order claims.
  • Verify procurement documents for legal compliance, pricing accuracy, and adherence to company specifications and policies.
  • Track and coordinate the timely delivery of purchased materials and commodities.
  • Support vendor performance management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure procurement requirements are met.
  • Work closely with Accounts Payable to investigate and resolve supplier invoice discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and procurement documentation.
  • Assist in ensuring uninterrupted supply of materials needed to support business operations.
