The Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC) Recovery Services Bureau (RSB) provides comprehensive programming and resources to reduce the harms associated with substance use. This includes treatment services, recovery supports, and youth prevention. RSB manages its own continuum of care, from outreach and engagement to drug user health and naloxone distribution. With over 150 personnel across more than 10 programs, RSB offers a wide range of services. This senior leadership role within the Recovery Services Bureau involves reporting directly to the Bureau Director. The Associate Bureau Director will provide strategic leadership to support the Bureau’s mission of reducing substance use-related harms in Boston. Key responsibilities include managing RSB programmatic operations, enhancing programs and services, and advancing the Bureau’s mission, values, and strategic objectives. The Associate Bureau Director will lead program transformation efforts, focusing on creating and embedding trauma-informed, evidence-based treatment, and harm-reduction models across all RSB programs. The ideal candidate is an innovative thinker with experience in workforce development, evidence-based practices, data-driven programming, and systems/process implementation.
