About The Position

The Associate Brand Manager, Ball will support delivery of the US brand plan with a primary focus on core canning, base business performance, and in-year execution. This role will combine business analytics, cross-functional project leadership, consumer and competitive insight, content and communications support, and disciplined budget management. The Associate Brand Manager will partner closely with the Senior Brand Manager and global brand marketing team, while working across Sales, Finance, R&D, Consumer Care, Customer Planning, Operations, Legal, and centralized marketing teams to drive profitable growth. The ideal candidate is a proactive business owner with at least 2 years of relevant experience, an understanding of brand management and innovation, and the ability to connect multiple data sources, translate findings into recommendations, and move work forward with speed, clarity, and strong follow-through.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in brand management, marketing, consumer products, customer marketing, analytics, or a related role preferred.
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles and a demonstrated interest in managing a brand and business.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify drivers, and translate insights into clear recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build concise, persuasive presentations.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, intellectual curiosity, and a collaborative working style.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with marketing, syndicated data, digital shelf, social, or media analytics tools is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Brand Manager and Senior Brand Manager to develop and execute the Ball base business strategy, with particular focus on core canning.
  • Help build the annual brand marketing and business plan, translating priorities into clear workstreams, milestones, and measures of success.
  • Lead or support projects that improve the health and growth of the core portfolio, including limited-time offers, maintenance initiatives, and channel-specific opportunities.
  • Coordinate cross-functional project teams, document decisions, clarify owners and deadlines, and proactively escalate risks or decisions needed.
  • Lead recurring brand performance reviews and deliver monthly brand reporting with clear commentary, insights, and recommended actions.
  • Connect and interpret multiple data sources to understand the drivers of brand, category, customer, and item performance.
  • Monitor net sales, consumption, distribution, velocity, share of shelf, competitive activity, market trends, promotions, innovation performance, and consumer feedback.
  • Identify growth opportunities, distribution-loss risks, marketplace knowledge gaps, and competitive vulnerabilities; recommend practical actions to improve results.
  • Prepare concise, decision-oriented presentations for brand leadership, senior management, and key cross-functional partners.
  • Analyze product velocity, profitability, distribution, and strategic role to support portfolio recommendations.
  • Partner across Marketing, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations to simplify the portfolio and improve execution.
  • Serve as a lead contact for assigned brand investment and consumer budget management.
  • Actualize spending against monthly expenses, maintain accurate tracking, and provide regular budget updates to the Marketing team.
  • Review media and program spending reports, identify variances, and work with partners to support timely reconciliation and responsible investment decisions.
  • Support activation of local advertising, PR, and brand communication plans, adapting global creative assets for the US market as needed.
  • Lead or support organic social strategy, content briefs, editorial calendars, and coordination with centralized social and engagement teams.
  • Use social performance analytics and consumer response to recommend improvements to future creative, content, and posting strategies.
  • Partner with influencer teams to support ambassador selection, content review, and seasonal campaign execution.
  • Monitor relevant brand communities and social channels to identify consumer sentiment, emerging needs, usage occasions, and trends; share actionable learning with the team.
  • Lead routine audits of Ball and Bernardin websites to help ensure product information, imagery, recipes, and brand content are accurate and current.
  • Audit retailer.com content to identify opportunities to strengthen above-the-fold and below-the-fold content and improve the digital shelf experience.
  • Partner with eCommerce, content, and agency teams to resolve gaps and improve omnichannel performance using available data and best practices.
  • Serve as a brand point of contact for Consumer Care and regularly synthesize key consumer questions, issues, and feedback into business opportunities.
  • Monitor competitive activity across stores, retailer sites, social platforms, and the broader category landscape; keep the team informed of relevant threats, trends, and best practices.
  • Partner with Sales and Customer Planning to prepare compelling presentations for key retailers and support joint business planning readiness.
  • Provide customer- and channel-relevant analysis, content, and recommendations that strengthen selling stories and execution.
  • Support development and execution of shippers, displays, sampling programs, and other customer activation programs; identify opportunities to simplify the display portfolio.
  • Coordinate internal and external sample requests with operations partners and support seasonal or national campaign needs.
  • Build strong working relationships across Sales, Finance, R&D, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Distribution, Customer Service, IT, HR, Legal, Consumer Care, and centralized marketing teams.
  • Communicate priorities, progress, decisions, and risks clearly; maintain organized documentation and reliable follow-through.
  • Demonstrate ownership, curiosity, sound judgment, and a bias for action in a fast-paced environment.
