About The Position

DELTA |v| Forensic Engineering, a leading accident reconstruction firm founded in 2004 and headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, is expanding its Biomechanics service offering. The Associate Biomechanical Engineer is an early-career role supporting the Accident Reconstruction (ARC) and Biomechanics team. This position involves investigating, analyzing, and reconstructing motor vehicle crashes, providing technical expertise through fieldwork and in-office analysis. The role requires applying engineering principles, emerging technologies, and analytical tools to document accident scenes, evaluate vehicle dynamics, and develop science-based conclusions. This opportunity is ideal for detail-oriented, mechanically inclined engineers eager to grow in a collaborative forensic engineering environment, with some regional travel and outdoor work required in a high-energy setting.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. (preferred) or M.S. in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering) with an emphasis on Injury Biomechanics.
  • Knowledge in the areas of: Biomechanics, Injury Causation, Injury Threshold.
  • Available to travel regionally.
  • Comfortable working on a team and in a collaborative space.
  • Positive attitude full of commitment and a desire to contribute both to the company and our Biomechanics service offerings.
  • Ability and desire to learn.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the use of CAD, FE modeling, and computational simulation is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Supports senior engineers in the investigation, analysis, and reconstruction of motor vehicle crashes.
  • Provides technical expertise through a combination of fieldwork and in-office analysis.
