Requirements

  • Ability to converse and read in English and Spanish.
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • One year of related sales and service experience.
  • Interest in sales.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Good working knowledge of personal deposit products and services.
  • Basic knowledge of consumer loan products.
  • Basic financial acumen.
  • Proficiency with various computer systems and similar technology.

Nice To Haves

  • May be required to register and maintain loan originator license through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry.
  • Submit fingerprints, update registry and complete annual training required of licensed individuals.
  • Ability to drive to any North Shore Bank branch location (for Area Associate Bankers).

Responsibilities

  • Actively promote and sell North Shore Bank products and services.
  • Build account relationships and perform Teller duties.
  • Perform sales support activities for the branch's sales area, with a minimum of 50% of activities devoted to sales and sales support.
  • Perform office and administrative duties to support operational needs.
  • Open new accounts and perform deposit account maintenance, ensuring accuracy and customer understanding of terms and disclosures.
  • Achieve Teller referrals and production goals.
  • Provide basic information on consumer loan products and refer potential customers.
  • Recognize additional customer opportunities and provide qualified referrals to business partners.
  • Utilize internal prospect lists for outbound calls and participate in call initiatives.
  • Provide quality, personalized service to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Follow up with clients via telephone, written correspondence, or personal contact.
  • Collaborate with Branch Manager and Personal Banker for production goal achievement.
  • Adhere to North Shore Bank sales processes.
  • Perform Teller and New Accounts duties as required.
  • Complete required customer files, documentation, and paperwork.
  • Research and follow up on incomplete/missing documentation.
  • Assist customers with statement balancing and research.
  • Prepare documents for account re-titling.
  • Participate in sales, product knowledge, and service meetings.
  • Process transactions efficiently and accurately, monitoring work for quality and quantity.
  • Potentially open/close the branch.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and security procedures.
  • Answer customer inquiries and direct them to appropriate personnel for complex issues.
  • Handle complex inquiries from Tellers and customers regarding bank policy and procedures.
  • Research and resolve customer problems, escalating difficult situations to the manager.
  • Exercise good business judgment when waiving fees or negotiating deposit rates within guidelines.
  • Consistently perform North Shore Bank customer service standards.
