About The Position

Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC is seeking an Associate, Banker in New York, New York. This role involves structuring, analyzing, and executing financing transactions such as bonds, private placements, debentures, securitizations, loans, and liability management for Latin American borrowers across various sectors including sovereigns, infrastructure, corporate, and banking. The position requires supporting live deal execution, managing due diligence, negotiating legal documents, and collaborating with other financial institutions. A key aspect of the role is reviewing financial and operating contracts to inform financial modeling, cash flow projections, and deal structuring. The Associate will also attend roadshows, assist in preparing marketing materials, and conduct analyses of client financing needs and capital structures within their business strategy. Responsibilities include identifying structural elements of bonds, advising on bond issue structuring, analyzing financial statements and filings, and preparing various financial analyses like Discounted Cash Flow and Comparable Companies analysis. Additionally, the role involves mentoring junior analysts and interns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field such as Civil Engineering.
  • Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role.
  • Two (2) years of experience with conducting credit analysis, financial modeling (including operating, discounted cash flow, and leveraged buyout models).
  • Two (2) years of experience performing due diligence, research, and transaction documentation to evaluate companies’ financial positions, cash flows, capital structures, and refinancing capacity.
  • Two (2) years of experience providing financial advice to companies in various sectors regarding capital raising, financing, and other financial transactions with more than $200M in deal value.
  • Two (2) years of experience supporting the structuring, execution, and distribution of equity and debt financing transactions, including coordination with rating agencies and capital markets specialists on transaction terms, pricing, and syndication.
  • Two (2) years of experience preparing market pitch presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Two (2) years of experience presenting to senior executives of clients in different sectors on corporate strategy and financing alternatives, including in Latin America markets.
  • International travel required 20% of time to Latin America region.

Responsibilities

  • Structure, analyze, and execute financing transactions including bonds, private placements, debentures, securitizations, loans, and liability management on behalf of Latin American borrowers.
  • Support live deal execution, including running due diligence processes, negotiating offering agreements and other legal documents.
  • Liaise with other investment banks and other parties within the team.
  • Review financial and operating contracts to input into financial modeling, projected cashflows, and term and condition structuring.
  • Attend deal and non-deal roadshows, and assist companies in preparation of marketing materials.
  • Conduct analysis of a client’s financing needs and its capital structure within the framework of its business strategy.
  • Identify structural elements of bonds and advise on choices involved in the structuring of a bond issue.
  • Analyze accounting and regulatory statements, debt and equity filings and documents, financial projections and models.
  • Review proprietary financial models, and prepare Discounted Cash Flow, Debt Sizing and Structuring, Comparable Companies, and Precedent Transactions analysis.
  • Mentor junior analysts and interns, supporting their professional development.
