About The Position

The Automation Engineer's primary role is to work under supervision and coordinating installation, troubleshooting and assist in maintaining automated processes and facility related equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing computerized systems and robotic devices designed to reduce human interaction. The engineer will also assist in improving and monitoring automation processes for optimum cost efficiency of production and support the installation and troubleshooting of control systems for various processing equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) in Automation Technology or Mechatronics Associate Degree Program.
  • 3 years or more of experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, programmable logic controllers, electrical circuits, electrical machinery, and human-machine interfaces within industrial and manufacturing plant, food or pharmaceutical processing facilities (with Bachelor's degree).
  • Good math and analytic skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency with various instruments and hand tools, such as electrical millimeters.
  • Fully comprehend, verify, and develop P&ID, Engineering Layout, Engineering Drawings, and Engineering documents.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and CAPA support for equipment.
  • Hands-on Mechanical knowledge.
  • Experience in Product Validation.
  • Successful completion of an OSHA-compliant Respirator Fit Test.

Nice To Haves

  • Master Degree (MS/MA) in Electrical Engineer, Electrical & Electronics Engineer.
  • No experience required (with Master's in Electrical Engineer, Electrical & Electronics Engineer).
  • Certifications and credentials from Electronics Technicians Association and the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council are preferable.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing of computerized systems and robotic devices.
  • Performing hands-on field installation, operational start-up, calibration, and commissioning activities under close supervision.
  • Supporting field technicians, bench technicians, robotics technicians, production support technicians, and maintenance technicians.
  • Improving and monitoring automation processes for optimum cost efficiency of production under close supervision.
  • Supporting installation and troubleshooting of control systems to automate upstream and downstream processing equipment.
  • Reading, understanding, verifying, and drafting P&ID, Engineering Layout, Engineering Drawings, Engineering documents, and Electrical Schematics.
  • Monitoring automated systems, isolating problems, and performing repairs under close supervision.
  • Assisting with the design, programming, simulation, and testing of automated machinery and processes.
  • Assisting with the design, upgrade, and troubleshooting of new and existing PLC control systems.
  • Assisting with performing field commissioning based on project requirements.
  • Assisting with the execution of automation projects, hardware and software implementation, and qualification and validation.
  • Assisting with training coworkers on the use of equipment.
  • Providing 24x7 on-call Automation Support, including technical support and troubleshooting functions.
